Hi all

Welcome to those who are subscribers as well as those who are reading my newsletter for the first time. If you missed the October 2023 News & Views Part Two about the Lunar Eclipse on October 28th, you can read that here conta.cc/46IEgPdPlease excuse any typos or mistakes below. Feel free to notify me if you find any.

This past eclipse season has been one of the most intense I can remember with the war in the Middle East and the mass shooting in Maine, to mention a few events. If there are any astrological glimmers of hope we can look to Saturn moving direct this week on November 4th even though it has already basically stationed (Scroll down to read about Saturn direct below. Part Two of this Newsletter will focus on the Nodes changing signs in both systems. Tropical Nodes changed into Aries and Libra in July and sidereal Nodes change into Pisces and Virgo on November 29.)

The other note would be that Jupiter will station direct on Dec. 31 on the same degree as the Oct. 28 Lunar Eclipse (Tropical. 05° Taurus 09’. Sidereal. 11° Aries 03’) and it will hover around that degree from December 15-January 15. This will hopefully change the trajectory of world events and our personal lives. I may have left that fact out of some of the webinars I presented this year, and I apologize for overlooking Jupiter's relationship to the Lunar Eclipse. Since it occurs at the very end of the year, I will begin with this in my annual Year Ahead webinar on Dec. 10th.

As just referenced, as I do every year, I will present a webinar about the 2024 Sensitive Degrees, which focuses on the Year Ahead on Sunday December 10 from 11 to 4:30 pm. This is a reminder that VERY EARLY BIRD RATES will end at midnight on November 5, 2023 after Saturn stations direct on the 4th. Scroll down to find out more about the webinar, and register at www.ronniedreyer.com/schedule by the 5th to get the very best reduced rates. Thank you to those who have already registered.

Now that the eclipse season is over, and Saturn stations direct on November 4, 2023 at Tropical 0° Pisces 30' and Sidereal 6° Aquarius 25' things that have been languishing may start to move fast, which can be for better or worse so do your best to push along something you have been working on and have meant to complete but found too many obstacles got in the way. The world is still a very heavy place, so definitely do whatever is positive in your life, and spend more time with people you love and admire. Scroll down to read more about Saturn stationing direct and moving forward.

This month's lunations occur with the New Moon on November 13, 2023, 9:27 AM GMT, Tropical 20° Scorpio 43’, Sidereal. 26° Libra 38’. viśākhāand the Full Moon on November 27, 2023, 9:16 AM GMT, Tropical 4° Gemini 51’, Sidereal. 10° Taurus 45’, rohiṇīIf you have any planets, points, or angles around those degrees (I would take a one-two degree orb) then whatever is represented by that planet, point or angle, will be prominent and important until the next lunation, meaning that if something in your chart is conjunct this month's New Moon on November 13, 2023, it will be prominent until the next New Moon on December 12, 2023, and if something in your chart is conjunct this month's Full Moon on November 27, 2023, it will be prominent until the next Full Moon on December 27, 2023. The New Moon represents beginnings and can help you to institute a change you have been thinking about while the Full Moon is an accomplishment or culmination and gives the push to continue on that path.

If your birthday is between November 12-14, 2023, then the New Moon is in your solar return (varṣaphala) or close enough that it will be important for the year ahead until your next birthday, meaning a change is bound to happen, so work on that change. It could be a physical move, job change, relationship change, or simply working on yourself to integrate new patterns and habits into your life. Expect a great deal of transformative experiences that will make you want to change or take a step in a different direction. Take your time but do head in that direction, since otherwise it will happen to you whether you initiate it or not.

If your birthday is between November 26-28, 2023, then the Full Moon is in your solar return (varṣaphala) or close enough that it will be important for the year ahead until your next birthday, meaning that it may be year when things you have been working on will manifest, or feel like they are moving in the right direction, so continue with whatever is fulfilling you. (Scroll down for more Celestial Events.)

Indian astrology classes will continue in January. If you are interested in intermediate Jyotisa classes that occur one evening every other week or advanced Jyotisa classes that occur once a month, please let me know and I will add you to the mailing list. If you wish to be prepared for the intermediate class but may not be at that level yet, you can purchase my Fundamentals of Jyotisa class at ronniedreyer.com/schedule or email me to see if you are at the right level. I will send out information once it is listed on my website. Beginning classes begin again in Spring 2024.

As many of you know my book Venus: The Evolution of the Goddess and her Planet was published in 1993 and while it has been out of print for a while, it is still available on used book sites. The book, which was published by HarperCollins, was very well-received and went into a second printing, but a book will only stay in print with a major publisher for a certain period of time. I have wanted to revise the book and bring it up to date for a while, and finally have been able to begin that process. I am working hard to finish those revisions within the next six months and publish it again. Of course it might take longer than that and I have already received grants from the New York NCGR and the Urania Trust to help the project along. So watch out for my Kickstarter campaign which I will let you all know about as soon as I get it up and running, and I hope you will support it with a small donation. This should be available in the next week or two if all goes according to plan.

Since locality astrology is having a Renaissance, here is the link to my 30 minute interview with Joni Patry from a few months ago in preparation for the lecture I gave on Astro*Carto*Graphy for her conference. I talk about meeting Jim Lewis, who popularized the technique, and provide some background information that might be interesting. Enjoy.

Saturn Stations Direct. November 4, 2023

Saturn's Retrograde Cycle. June 17-November 4, 2023.

Saturn stations retrograde. June 17, 2023. Tropical. 7° Pisces 12'. Sidereal. 13° Aquarius 7’. śātabhiṣaj.
Sun opposite Saturn. August 27, 2023. Tropical 3° Virgo-Pisces 50’. Sidereal. 9° Leo-Aquarius 44’. maghā-śātabhiṣaj
Saturn stations direct. November 4, 2023. Tropical. 0° Pisces 30'. Sidereal. 6° Aquarius 25'. dhaniṣṭhā

As we see above, Saturn retrogrades every year for about 4 1/2 months. Because Jupiter through Pluto move slowly, I do not use the period of their retrograde arc or shadow, since then it would encompass a very large span of time. It is still important to note the degrees in between where Saturn stations retrograde and direct, since if you have a planet, point, or angle in your chart, then Saturn will transit that degree three times, and during the final time, it should bring you down to earth, and help materialize things you have been working on. That means that even though Saturn stations direct on November 4th, it still may not come back to where it first conjoined a planet, point, or angle in your chart until sometime before February 8, 2024 when it reaches the degree where it stationed retrograde at Tropical. 7° Pisces 12'. Sidereal. 13° Aquarius 7’. If you do have a planet, point, or angle, within a degree or two of this week's direct station, which is Tropical. 0° Pisces 30'. Sidereal. 6° Aquarius 25' you will be relieved to move forward especially with a project that began the last time Saturn came to that degree, which would have been during the first two weeks of March 2023. If you have a planet, point, or angle within a degree or two of where Saturn retrograded at Tropical. 7° Pisces 12'. Sidereal. 13° Aquarius 7’. then something that began around the last two weeks of June 2023, when it stationed retrograde, will find its resolution during the first two weeks of February when Saturn passes over that degree, though you will now be moving in a positive direction gaining momentum since Saturn moves direct.

If you do not have anything around the direct station degree, you can still look at the house/bhava that tropical Pisces and sidereal Aquarius occupy since that will be where Saturn presently is located and will be for a while. Because Saturn moves slowly these houses are most sensitive to changes that you wish to make in your life slowly, methodically, but most definitively. Scroll down below to see how to figure out where Saturn will currently station direct and what those houses may mean to you. During this past retrograde period, you may have been slowed down, gotten stalled or frustrated about something but could not see your way out of it or forward. The area of the chart where tropical Pisces or sidereal Aquarius falls is where this may have taken place. Hopefully you were patient and understood that sometimes taking the time to reflect and turn things around is the most appropriate and productive thing to do. It is the area where you must work hard and stand the test of time, and if you do that, you could be successful since now Saturn is moving direct in faster motion, and that opportunity begins this week. Much of feeling stuck, delayed and heavy should start to lighten up. If the lessons of Saturn are adhered to, the areas of life defined by that sector of the horoscope will be more focused, disciplined and able to be positive even if slow-moving. Saturn moves slowly and that is the lesson we always need to learn.

Where direct Saturn is concerned, we have to embrace the adage that less is more, at least for the time being, and use our resolve, focus, powers of concentration, discipline, and endurance to weather storms that we will face. Time to help our fellow human beings. Give to charities. Volunteer if you can. Help the elderly. Honor your elderly relatives and delve into your ancestry. This will be even more important as we approach Thanksgiving on November 23rd here in the United States. Try to volunteer and if not around Thanksgiving, then plan on doing for others as the holidays approach. In addition to all of the above, there are many mantras and prayers that you can say for Saturn, and I always tell people to read The Greatness of Saturn by Robert Svoboda, which will present Saturn in all of its manifestations.

Scroll down to read whichever zodiac you use.

Read if you use sidereal Indian astrology. If you have a planet, point, or angle in your chart between sidereal 6° Aquarius 25'-13° Aquarius 7’ where Saturn retrograded, whatever that represents is the area in which Saturn demands revision and restructuring. The good news is that it will call your attention to that area, even if it is at times frustrating. The key is to be structured, disciplined, and look at things realistically. The message is to work within limitations but not to look at it negatively. Sometimes less is more and if you muster patience and are able to eliminate things you do not need, you will be able to make the most of whatever the planet represents. Remember that whatever the planet or angle represents may be slowed down, reviewed, revised, and ultimately reinvigorated and reinvented now that Saturn is moving direct. These are generic meanings, so it is important to see which house these planets rule, and scroll further to see what the houses represent.

Sun. power, vigor; Moon. maternal, mind; Mars. strength, courage; Mercury. speech, learning; Jupiter.  knowledge, wealth; Venus. love, happiness; Saturn. sorrow, fear; Rahu. intensity, compulsion; Ketu. extremes, spirituality; Lagna. destiny, vitality. If you want to use Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and the angles you can look below at tropical Western astrology for their keywords.

The bhava (house) that sidereal Aquarius occupies is the area that may be slowed down, reviewed, revised, and ultimately reinvigorated and reinvented. If you do not know which house sidereal Aquarius occupies, look at your ascendant, or Moon, or even your Sun (if you do not know your ascendant or Moon), and just count from there. Saturn is in sidereal Aquarius from April 27-July 14, 2022, and then from January 16, 2023-March 30, 2025 so you have plenty of time to focus on this area of your chart. General descriptions for bhavas (houses) are as follows:

1. appearance, destiny, temperament, personality, constitution; 2. Money, family life, food, speech, early childhood; 3. Siblings, Fine arts, courage, desires; 4. Mother, happiness, real estate, vehicles; 5. Children, romance, investments, speculation; 6. Open enemies, work, competition, obstacles, illness; 7. Marriage, partners, contracts, passion; 8. Life and death cycle, research, accidents, other's money, inheritance; 9. Father, teacher (guru), religion, higher learning, opportunity; 10. Career, status, public recognition, reputation; 11. Profits, rewards, gains from work, awards, older siblings; 12. spiritual practice, secret enemies, foreign travel, debt, confinement.
