BWIM celebrates action taken by the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) in passing a motion at their 2023 Annual Meeting.

Advocacy Update: General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina

The General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (GBSC) passed the historic Resolution on Women in Ministry in which they affirm women in ministry at it's 156th Annual Session in October 2023.

BWIM Documentary Screenings

"Midwives of a Movement" is a feature documentary film which chronicles the stories of the women who boldly birthed a movement to seek greater visibility and opportunities for women in the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). Despite great opposition, their courage blazed pathways for advancing women in ministry and leadership among Baptists.

BWIM wants to share in celebrating congregational affirmation of all women in ministry, and it helps us to keep records of all of the women in Baptist life who are ordained.

RECENT ORDINATIONS:

Sally Evans, ordained at Highland Baptist church on Sunday, October 22nd.

Shavon Walker, ordained November 3rd at Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church in Oakland, CA where she serves as the Evergreen Ministry Associate for Social Media. The ordaining church is Burien Community Church in Burien, Washington.

Laura Tadlock (pictured), ordained November 19th at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church where she serves on the ministerial staff. Laura is also a chaplain.
