Annual Book & Bake Sale

Saturday, November 18 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

(Early Bird Entry 8-9 a.m. with a $5 fee)

Lots of great books, dvds, audiobooks - all at great prices. Also, baked goods to purchase and enjoy with your "new" books. Something for everyone.


And while you are in the area, don't forget to visit the 2nd Annual Holiday Market next door at the Scotland Fire House. This event is hosted by the Scotland Farmer's Market and runs from

9 a.m. - 1 p.m.


Art Journaling for Teens & Adults


We meet on the 1st Friday of the month from 5-7 p.m. to add a new creative page to our journals. You will receive a journal on your first visit. Supplies and a topic will be provided. Our next session is Friday, Nov. 3 from 5-7 p.m.

Story Time


Thursdays at 10 a.m.

Join Miss Jenn for stories, games, crafts, and more. This program is open to our young patrons and their caregivers. Please note: If Scotland Elementary School is closed, there is no Story Time.

Drop-in Craft


Stop by the library the week of November 7th to make some Leaf Sprites to decorate your Thanksgiving table. All supplies will be provided.

Game Day Celebration


Join us on November 8 at 5:30 to celebrate International Game Day. We'll have board games and refreshments. Bring your friends and family and join the fun.


This is the start of the Library's International Games Month Challenge. We'll have all the details for you on November 8th. Can you complete our challenge by November 30th?

Building Club


Tuesday, November 28 at 4 p.m.


We are meeting on the 4th Tuesday of the month. We'll provide some exciting building materials and you provide the creativity. All ages are welcome to join us.

No signups required.

Holiday Gift Tag Class


Saturday, December 2

at 10 a.m.


Make plans to join us for a tag and bow making class at the library. This is a free program and is open to teens and adults, but you must REGISTER as space is limited. Contact the library to reserve your seat.

Holiday Photo Op at the Library


Stop by the library with your family in their finest for a special holiday photo op beginning Wednesday, Dec. 6. We'll have a festive backdrop and will take a picture with your camera or device.

The Palace app offers you all the eBooks at the library in one easy-to-use app, so you can search once, find your title, and start reading in just a few taps. 


To get started, download the Palace Project app on your device, select the Scotland Public Library, and enter your 13 digit library barcode from your library card and PIN from your Verso library account. Contact the library with any questions.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten


Help your child prepare for school by reading to them everyday. Join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the library.

It's easy:

  • stop by the library to pick up your packet.
  • keep a journal of all the books you share with your child
  • bring in your reading log for a prize to mark each milestone.
