A Message From Our Director

Dear Amaryllis Community:

If you have been to our website lately, you might notice that it is a little wonky! My apologies, as our new website is under construction and we hope to have it up and running soon! In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to call our front desk, 303-433-0852 to register for a class or get more information. They’re here to help!

I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, whether you are celebrating with friends and family or getting some much needed rest. I am so grateful for our amazing staff and the dedicated families that bring their infants and children for therapy every week. It is an honor to be a part of this community.

In gratitude,

Cindy

Wake Up Your Child’s Brain with NeuroMovement®

Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® is a science-based approach for waking up your child’s brain, providing it with the information and conditions to grow, develop, and thrive.

With over 30 years of experience working with children of all ages and a variety of conditions, we have seen children overcome many limitations and experience surprising new possibilities! Learn more about this Method in Anat Baniel’s book, Kids Beyond Limits.

Andrew Tarr is an Anat Baniel Method of NeuroMovement (ABMNM) practitioner here at Amaryllis who works with children and adults. He also trained and works as a Feldenkrais Practitioner. These two methods are closely related, evolving from the work and teachings of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais.

This video (link below) introduces Baniel’s book, Kids Beyond Limits, which I highly recommend to patients, caregivers, teachers, and professionals.

Hand Turkeys!

Celebrate the season and let your artistic spirit shine with this charming kids' craft.

Supplies

  • Colored cardstock paper or construction paper (you will need brown, red, orange, green and yellow)
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Glue stick

Directions:

  1. Cut two circles out of your brown construction paper. These circles will be your turkey's head and body.
  2. Cut a triangle out of your orange construction paper, and a tear-shape (or oval) out of your red construction paper. These will be your turkey's beak and snood respectively.
  3. (optional) cut some little feet out of the orange paper to give your turkey feet!
  4. Trace your handprint on the orange, yellow, red and green paper. Cut out these handprints to make your turkey's tail feathers!
  5. Glue your turkey's head and body together. Then glue your beak and snood to your turkey's head.
  6. Glue your turkey's tail feathers behind your turkey's body.
  7. Now all you're missing is some eyes! Use a marker or some googly eyes to complete your turkey!
