National Philanthropy Day is a special day set aside on the fifteenth of November. The purpose of this day is to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy—and those people active in the philanthropic community—to the enrichment of our world.

Introducing the Fall 2024 Peer Mentoring Class | |

The Peer Mentoring Committee recently welcomed the Fall 2024 Class of 13 pairs of protégés and mentors who will connect over the next 12 months for partnership, conversation, career exploration, networking, and growth. Program participants represent a range of nonprofit sectors, including arts and culture, human services, education, healthcare, community development and consulting.
The class learned more about the program and how they were matched, as well as best practices for a successful peer mentoring relationship during a virtual kick-off on Friday, November 1. Throughout their year-long commitment to the program, protégés will meet with their mentors at least monthly to discuss their goals and career-related questions, and attend optional programs that include discussion groups and networking opportunities.

2025 AFP Foundation Chamberlain Scholarship Program
The Chamberlain Scholarship program honors Ralph E. Chamberlain, CFRE. Mr. Chamberlain had a long and distinguished career of service to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), beginning in the 1960s when the organization was formed as the National Society of Fund Raisers (NSFR), through the late 1970s when the name was changed to the National Society of Fund Raising Executives (NSFRE), and until his death in 1999. Mr. Chamberlain’s dedication to the organization we now know as AFP never faltered in his long volunteer career with the Association.
The Chamberlain Scholarship covers the recipient’s conference registration to AFP ICON April 25-29, 2025 in Seattle, Washington. The scholarship is available to individuals who have never attended AFP ICON.
Applications are due Thursday, November 14, 2024.

Diverse Communities Scholarship Application
The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy is pleased to once again offer the Diverse Communities Scholarship program for members of diverse/marginalized communities to attend AFP ICON April 25-29, 2025 in Seattle, Washington.
AFP is excited to offer scholarships that cover the full conference registration fee. Additionally, each selected scholar may receive a stipend of up to $800 to help cover travel and accommodation expenses, ensuring equitable access and participation in the conference.
Applications are due Friday, November 15, 2024.
