Can I Own Chickens?

You may have heard that the State of Arizona recently passed House Bill 2325, requiring cities to allow backyard chickens in certain single-family homes. Before considering chickens, if you have a Homeowners Association, you should read your CC&Rs and contact for HOA to ensure compliance with any additional rules they may have.

Single-family detached homes can have chickens in the backyard, if they meet the specific requirements. You can find out about those requirements by following the link below.

Won't You Be My Neighbor?

Dan Grimwood

Originally from Minnesota, Dan, his wife Pam, and their three kids moved around the U.S. for over 16 years while Dan served as a U.S. Air Force instructor pilot, flying F-16s and T-38s. They then lived in Tucson for more than 12 years, where Dan was with the Arizona Air National Guard as an F-16 instructor pilot and Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Commander. The family became a house divided, with two of their kids graduating from the University of Arizona and one from Arizona State University. After 29 years in uniform, Dan retired from the U.S. military.

He and Pam then moved to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where Dan worked as a contract F-16 instructor pilot. They settled in Goodyear over 11 years ago after Dan landed a position at Luke AFB, where he is now the Program Manager for the contractor team supporting F-16 pilot training at Luke AFB and Holloman AFB, NM. A highlight of his current role was working for Goodyear-based Sonoran Technology for five years.

Residents of Pebble Creek, Dan and Pam are fortunate to have all three of their kids, spouses, five grandkids, and Pam’s parents living in the valley. A few years ago, Dan applied for and was selected for the Goodyear Leadership Enrichment and Development (LEAD) program, a 12-week course that provided insights into all aspects of running a city. This experience led to his participation on the 2035 Goodyear General Plan Committee.

After retiring again in early 2025, Dan looks forward to further participation in city programs. Goodyear is a better place because of people like Dan. Thank you for your service sir!

Faith & Community Roundtable

The FCRT is held the second Tuesday of each month and agencies are chosen at random to have their information provided to Goodyear residents. These agencies serve Goodyear residents and are providing a valuable service to our community.

Transformation Treehouse is dedicated to helping children grow up knowing they are good enough, they are wanted, & they are Loved, no matter what's going on at home or in society, by their Father in Heaven!

We do this through summer and winter camps for at risk youth. We provide financial assistance for single parent, foster/adoption, or low income households. We also do community events that benefit local children in need, like our annual Free Family Fall Fest coming up!

To learn more about Transformation Treehouse, you can email Executive Director, Tanner Helm, or visit their website by clicking the button below.
