Monthly Writers Workshop


Join us for the next session on Tuesday, November 5th at 5:30.


Susan Powers, the Poet Laureate for Scotland, welcomes poets, poetry lovers, and writers to a monthly Writers Workshop at the library to share their work and encourage one another. Please bring your original work to share.

Open to adults - registration not required.

Youth Creative Writing Workshop


Tuesday, November 12th

at 3 p.m.


Children ages 9 and up are welcome to join us for a Creative Writing Workshop with Scotland's Poet Laureate, Susan Powers. She will provide topics and instructions to get young writers started on their writing journey. Contact the library with any questions.


There will be 1 more session on Tuesday, December 10.

Art Journaling for Teens & Adults


We meet on the 1st Friday AND the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 5-7 p.m. to add a new creative page to our journals. You will receive a journal on your first visit. Supplies and a topic will be provided. This month we meet on Friday, November 1 & Wednesday, November 20 from 5-7 p.m.

Join us at the library and then be sure to visit Scotland's 3rd Annual Holiday Market next door at the Scotland Volunteer Fire Hall. The event runs from 9-1 and will showcase lots of great holiday gift ideas.

Holiday Photo Op


Beginning the week of December 3rd


Dress in your holiday best and stop by during library hours for a holiday photo. We'll provide a festive backdrop and will take a picture of your family/friends with your phone or camera.

Holiday Tag Making Class


Saturday, December 7th

from 9:30-11:30


All supplies and instructions will be provided to create festive holiday gift tags to spruce up your packages. You must register as space is limited. Open to teens and adults.

Holiday Cookie Tasting Party


Wednesday, December 11th

from 6-7 p.m.


Bring in 2 dozen of your favorite holiday cookies and a copy of the recipe to share. There will be lots of tasty treats to try and a few to take home. Make plans to join us for this enjoyable annual event.

Building Club


Building Club will be on break until the New Year. Check back in 2025 to see what we have planned.

Silent Book Club


The Silent Book Club will be put on hold until after the holidays.

Electric Vehicle Charging Station


There is a charging station in the library parking lot for your electric vehicles. What you should know if you plan to use it:

  • Download the mobile app from the Android or Apple store at https://onelink.to/5kcvhw
  • First time users will select Charge as a Guest and will need to enter credit/debit card information before proceeding.
  • If you are a member you will need to select Account, Create Blink Code, and then enter the Blink Code when prompted.

The books for 2024 have been announced and are available at the library. Stop by to borrow 1 of the 3 titles (adult, young adult, & juvenile) and see the short list in each category.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten


Help your child prepare for school by reading to them everyday. Join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the library.

It's easy:

  • stop by the library to pick up your packet.
  • keep a journal of all the books you share with your child
  • bring in your reading log for a prize to mark each milestone.
