IHS Student Voter Registration Drive Enrolls 142 Future Voters!

On October 7-8, 2024, the Irvington NY PTSA, in collaboration with the Irvington High School (IHS), registered 142 students during its annual student voter registration drive. During the two-day event, parent volunteers teamed up with students from the district’s Vocational Independence Program (VIP) to help students (age 16 and up) complete voter registration forms, hand out stickers, bracelets and candy, and manage sales of Irvington Bulldog spirit wear.

If your student is 16-18, and didn’t have a chance to register, they can register online or via the DMV

Thank you to Dympna Kenny, who chaired the event, Sara Rust and Mystery Lusk, who partnered with the PTSA  to organize and promote the drive, to the students from the VIP program for their hard work, and to PTSA volunteers, Aditi Chang, Rosie Cortese, Mavis Edme, Mara Gredick and Sonal Vasudev!

Got a Question for School Administrators? Here's How!

All parents are encouraged to utilize the Parent Advisory Council or PAC, which is a forum to anonymously raise questions/concerns or share suggestions with school administrators about topics that impact the District, the school, the grade or a class. Each school (Dows Lane, Main Street School, Irvington Middle School and Irvington High School) has its own PAC which is composed of that school’s principal and assistant principal, and the PTSA Vice Presidents (VP) and Grade Parents. This group meets monthly to discuss the questions and concerns submitted by parents, and the PTSA representatives are there to be your voice and advocate.

Submit a PAC Inquiry

No Idea Whom to Contact? Here's Help!

Also, the school district's administration, teachers and staff can always be contacted directly. The IUFSD Board of Education has created a detailed communication resource matrix to help parents and guardians identify who, how and in what sequence to raise and escalate questions and concerns.
