Take Action This Homelessness Awareness Month

Homelessness affects a diverse range of people—families, individuals, youth, and seniors—for many reasons, with the lack of affordable housing being a primary driver. At Valley Outreach we support community members in need by offering essentials like food, clothing, and assistance in accessing social services. These resources help clients save money that can be directed toward housing. Additionally, we focus on preventing homelessness because regaining stable housing is often extremely challenging once it’s lost.

Support Valley Outreach on Give to the Max Day!

This year, Give to the Max Day is November 21, and we're highlighting a top need for clients. At Valley Outreach, we're calling this annual day of giving, Give to the MAX(i Pad) Day!

Your generous gifts and funds raised will go directly toward items that clients need - including maxi pads, a critical item distributed in our food shelf. Menstrual products are essential, and with your help, we can ensure everyone who comes to Valley Outreach has access to this basic necessity.

Be Curious: Native American Heritage Month

This November, we invite you to join us in honoring Native American Heritage Month—a time to celebrate and learn from the resilience, cultural contributions, and wisdom of Indigenous peoples. At Valley Outreach, we believe honoring the heritage of Native communities brings us closer to building an inclusive and supportive society.

Participate in the Snap $5.16 per Day Challenge!

Starting on November 25, just before the holidays, we’re asking you to live on a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) budget of $5.16 per day for three days in an effort to highlight the difficulty that people in the community face every day.

SNAP is an essential part of the hunger relief ecosystem here in Minnesota. While there is a strong sense of gratitude for this means-tested provision, we recognize the significant gap between survival and a thriving existence. Currently, the minimum monthly benefit is about $23.00*
