Research Associate Nick Yarmey shared a new methodology called MAIDHA, which is emerging as the gold standard for intersectional analysis in social epidemiology.
MAIDHA is meant to examine inequalities by factors such as gender, race/ethnicity, and socioeconomic status, where each unique combination of these variables is considered a social strata. It allows "estimation of average differences between intersectional strata (stratum inequalities), in-depth exploration of interaction effects, as well as decomposition of the total individual variation (heterogeneity) in individual outcomes within and between strata" (Evans et al. 2024).
