Kennebec Terrace

New project drop on our website. On a perfect autumn day the Kennebec Terrace was photographed by Darren Setlow Photography. A main house, guest cottage and garage are linked by a covered walkway. The owner's love its energy efficiency, and who wouldn't love the view of the river from the large, triple-glazed windows. Interior design by Jeanne Handy Designs, construction by Chartier Building and Remodeling.

Maine Home + Design

In the recent Nov/Dec MH+D magazine, our Clifden project was featured. Artists in Residence, a well-written piece by Jorge Arango complimented the photographs by Jeff Roberts Imaging. Both clients are artists, and one happens to be an architect, which turned into a great team effort. Also on the team was interior designer Jeanne Handy Designs and the builder, Oceanside Builders.

Testimonial

We do enjoy feedback from our clients, especially when they have had time to live in their newly built or renovated home. Our latest testimonial was from clients who ended up selling their main house to move to Maine full time. They are enjoying their new energy efficient home overlooking the Kennebec River. Construction by Chartier Building and Remodeling.

Maine AIA is Hiring!

After more then a decade at the helm as Executive Director of AIA Maine, our director Jeannette Schram, is leaving her position to pursue new opportunities. It has been wonderful to get to know Jeannette and work with her over the years, she will be missed. Do you know of a perfect someone who could fill this position? If so, please pass along this link to the job description and application.

Camp Kokadjo

Camp Kokadjo, a 2,700 sf home on First Roach Pond, just past Moosehead Lake, is right on schedule to be framed and enclosed before the winter weather kicks in. Located in snow country, DMA designed larger roof overhangs and a main floor higher off the ground than many projects closer to us in Bath. Extra thick walls and triple-glazed windows were an obvious choice. Construction by Big Country Built.

On the drawing board

On the drawing board is a nicely modern house in South Bristol. The original house was destroyed by the January storms here in Maine. Learning from these lessons, the new house is higher and further back from the water, and will also have hurricane shutters on the water/wind side of the house. Construction to start in the spring by Rideout & Turner.
