After a 130+ day budget impasse, the General Assembly is expected to pass a $50.1 billion budget package for fiscal-year 2025-26. The plan represents a $2.27 billion (4.7%) increase over last year’s spending and includes no increases to sales or income tax rates and no new revenue sources.

The House and Senate are both in session today and are expected to remain in Harrisburg while various pieces of the package are moved and voted on.

That likely means that grant programs will begin opening again as well. Until then, these programs are currently open and accepting applications.

R3 Education Grant Program

Grants are available to organizations that provide hands-on education for the recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of anglers and boaters in Pennsylvania. Projects can span a variety of topics within fishing and boating in Pennsylvania, such as but not limited to introductory fishing skills, fishing skills targeting specific species (catfish, steelhead, muskellunge, etc.), fly fishing skills, kayak fishing, and paddlesports.

Veterans Employment Program

The purpose of this program is to support innovative solutions that address employment barriers that veteran’s face throughout the Commonwealth. Funding will be awarded for projects that aim at developing and implementing new strategies that help to improve employment outcomes for veterans.

Veterans' Trust Fund

The Veterans Trust Fund (VFT) grant is for new, innovative, and/or expanded programs that increase or improve services to veterans across the Commonwealth.

Boating Facility Grant Program

This program provides grants to public entities for the construction or improvement of public boat access facilities.
