YFM Coordinator Note

Greetings! As I reflect upon the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I can't help but celebrate the retreat last month - 82 Uniteens, Youth of Unity (Y.O.U.) and adults gathered around the theme Peace Like A River in southeast Wisconsin for a weekend of connection, fun and spiritual upliftment. I so enjoy seeing our Regional Y.O.U. Officers take the reins, leading the group in prayer, meditation, games and more. It's awe inspiring! I am filled with appreciation, too, for the wonderful team of both youth and adult leaders doing what is needed to make these weekends happen. What joy!

Finally, I'm grateful for the invitations to turn mistakes into learning opportunities, anger into connection to what I love, and to lean into discomfort as a catalyst for growth. May you, also, take the invitations the Universe is offering for your highest good, and have a blessed holiday.

Fall Retreat Recap

As I mentioned above, 82 folks participated in the Fall Youth Retreat. We celebrate all who attended and all who helped support others in attending! I love witnessing the transformation from Friday jitters to heartfelt hugs goodbye on Sunday morning. I believe today's young people need safe and affirming spaces like these more than ever, and the growth at each event warms my heart!

Finally, I'm thrilled to announce event dates for 2026!

May 8-10 | Spring Unitreat for Uniteens (6th-8th grades) | Lutherdale in Elkhorn, WI

June 12-15 | June Rally for Y.O.U. (9th-12th grades) | Towerhill Camp in Sawyer, MI

YFM Summit Summary

On Weds, Nov 19th, UWM hosted a half day YFM Summit. Topics ranged from updates from UWM and the Regions, to idea sharing, and skills for YFM program success.



The recording should be out in time for next month's newsletter.

Ministering With Families Call

Tues Dec 30th

6 PM CT/ 7 PM ET

Who: Youth directors, ministers, board members, and others who work with young people.

Purpose: Share best practices and skills around ministering to and with families, and support each other in this important work. Join this wonderful community of support for anyone who works with youth and/or families (or wants to)!

Agenda: Pray-In, Check-In; Celebrations, Challenges; Proposed Topics For Group Discussion; YFM Regional News Sharing; Closing.

Come receive support and get connected with others working to serve youth and families in the Great Lakes Region!
