Every November, my inbox fills with words of thanks, and I love it. Our community is full of people doing good work, and it’s heartwarming to see so much appreciation poured into the world. But in a sea of gratitude posts, I find myself wondering: how can I possibly say thank you in a way that truly captures what I feel?
So here goes my attempt.
🧡 I’m thankful for our donors, whose generosity keeps the lights on and the mission alive, not just at OneSource, but across dozens of nonprofits whose work ripples through our community.
🧡 I’m thankful for our consultants, the volunteer experts who roll up their sleeves to guide organizations through transitions, challenges, and opportunities. You give your time, your wisdom, and so often, your heart.
🧡 I’m thankful for our members and nonmembers alike, the hardworking front line of our community. You respond to complex social needs, strengthen families, care for our neighbors, and bring art, culture, and creativity that make our city vibrant and whole. Whether you’re feeding the hungry or feeding the soul, your work matters deeply, we see you.
🧡 To those who took part in deep-dive consulting projects, thank you for being brave enough to look inward, to ask the hard questions that lead to stronger, more sustainable missions.
🧡 To the visionary nonprofit leaders who believe in the power of collaboration, who invest in leadership development, and who never stop seeking new ways to grow and support your organizations and the people you serve.
🧡 To those who shopped at the Common Good Store and distributed vouchers. Thank you for helping to create spaces that are warm, functional, and welcoming for all. You prove that creating dignity in the workplace and comfort for clients matters deeply.
🧡 And to my staff, who somehow manages to keep smiling even when the OneSource pipes burst (literally), who adapts, rebuilds, and laughs through the chaos. I’m endlessly grateful. Your “we’ve got this” spirit is the heartbeat of our work.
🧡 Mostly, I’m thankful to be part of the Greater Cincinnati Nonprofit community, a community filled with people who, in the words of Coretta Scott King, agree that “the greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.”
It’s not always easy to rise above the holiday noise, but my hope is that these words reach you, wherever you are, and remind you that your partnership and your trust mean the world to us. Thank you for allowing OneSource to be your friend, your resource, and your partner in doing good.
