There is a bill in the House by NC Congressman Murphy called the Prevent Environmental Hazards Act. The bill is designed to allow NFIP to pay out claims to homes ahead of collapse for the purpose of moving or demolishing a structure before it becomes a hazard.
The bill was gaining traction before the government shutdown, but now we need your help. As this is a federal bill, anyone from any state can call your representatives and push for this to be moved forward.
