Advent Challenge--Walk to Bethlehem.

Joseph and Mary traveled 90 miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem. During the season of Advent, we make our own journey to prepare for the birth of the Christ Child. It is a busy season and sometimes, with parties and church events, we forget to take care of ourselves. Our challenge during this season is to praise God with healthy bodies and include some physical activity in our day. Set a goal, how many miles to walk or run, how many days to exercise (this can be chair exercise), how many steps to take in a day. There are apps for your phone to record this.

CITY OF ANGELS: A 4-WEEK SERIES FROM THE GOSPELS ON CHRISTMAS

SERIES OVERVIEW:

Why are there so many Christmas songs about angels? Because angels show up all throughout the Christmas story with great news! In this four-week series, kids will explore the foundational stories of Jesus’ birth with a focus on the angels who were there to witness them! From the city where Jesus was born, to the cities we live in today, the angels’ message is just as important now as it was then! Jesus is God’s plan, calms our fears, makes everything new, and is God’s love for everyone.

HALO: A 4-WEEK STUDY FROM THE GOSPELS ON CHRISTMAS

SERIES OVERVIEW:

There are certain things that make Christmas really feel like Christmas, right? Christmas trees, holly, candy canes, nativity sets, that one Christmas album your family can’t get enough of . . . oh! And angels. If you pay attention, you’ll find them everywhere this Christmas season. They’re on Christmas trees, ornaments, and greeting cards. They’re in Christmas carols, movies, and nativity sets. And they’re all over the pages of Scripture, too. That’s because angels played an important role in the very first Christmas. In this four-week series from the Gospels, we’ll pay close attention to the announcements the angels made surrounding Jesus’ birth. Together, we’ll see why the messages the angels shared back then still matter today — like the message that God’s timing is always right, that Jesus is always good news, that we can always share God’s story, and that God is always ready to rescue.
