Look for a special eblast tomorrow with information about fellowship events, worship times, and devotional resources during Advent and Christmas. We hope that in this season as we await the coming of our Lord Jesus that these spaces will strengthen us in hope and faith.

Order a Poinsettia in Honor or Memory of a Loved One

Poinsettias will bring beauty to our sanctuary later in December. If you would like to order one in honor or memory of a loved one, with their name(s) included in our Christmas Eve worship guide, please contact Amanda in the church office at [email protected] by Friday, December 9. Poinsettias are $12 each, and you are welcome to take it home with you after Christmas Eve worship.

We begin our singing in the new liturgical year and the First Sunday of Advent with Charles Wesley’s favorite “Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus.” It is set to the Welsh tune Hyfrydol, by Rowland Hugh Pritchard.

Join our church family for a Merry Christmas Brunch after our worship service, December 11th, in the Fellowship Hall. Members of the congregation are asked to bring breakfast casseroles, quiche, bread, fruit or other brunch contributions.

The Fellowship Team will provide coffee, ice water, orange juice, apple juice and milk.

We will be using our dishes and we welcome congregation members to sign up for our clean up team by following this Sign Up Genius link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090545ADA828AAFA7-christmas

There will be Fellowship Committee members in the kitchen during worship if you have a dish that needs to go in the oven prior to brunch. Hope to see everyone there!

Service of Solace, December 11 at 4:30pm (piano music begins at 4:00pm)

This season can be so busy, stressful, and even sometimes lonely. The deacons of our church offer a respite – a change of pace – through our annual “Service of Solace.” On Sunday afternoon, December 11, there will be a casual, quiet service of reflection, remembrance, and comfort. You are invited to come any time after 4:00 that afternoon and sit in the stillness of the sanctuary while Kristy plays the piano. When the service itself begins at 4:30pm, there will be scripture readings, prayers, candle-lighting, songs and quiet reflection. The service itself is approximately a half hour in length. Childcare is provided for infants through five-years-old.

"Dinner with Friends" will start in January. Sign up now!

"Dinner with Friends" is back, and we are excited to spend time getting to know our church family better. We form groups of 8 people including singles and couples. Don't want to commit to 4 months? Feel free to sign up as a substitute whereby you will be called upon to fill in for someone unable to attend. Groups share a meal once a month for four months. You can potluck at someone's home, or go "Dutch" at a local restaurant. Sign up now through December 11. The Fellowship team will arrange the groups, and further guidance will be given. Sign up in the Welcome Hall , or by email to Cheryl Wright at [email protected]

These Days: Daily Devotions for Living by Faith

These Days is a devotional booklet with a scripture, brief reflection, and a prayer for each day. Copies are available at church in the Welcome Hall. Published by the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation, the latest issue covers October, November and December. It is a great way to be intentional about spending time with God each day. Food Pantry Update

What a wonderful "Turkey Day"! We distributed 176 turkeys to 758 people and gave out 13,236 pounds of food. We had 40 families just get turkeys and "sides" since they had been here in November. But 136 families got our full load - bags and bags of food.

We started to serve at 7:45 and it was a steady stream of cars until 11. We had great help on Saturday from the Young Men's Service League, a group from bnsf, and various community volunteers. Thanks to all who helped on Friday for set up (That was a job!) and on Saturday.  18 families were new to us.

Please sign up to volunteer on Friday or Saturday mornings here. Slots are available through December. Please sign up to volunteer on Saturdays. We will be closed on 12/24 and 12/31.

The pantry needs:

gallon and quart ziploc bags (to repackage food)

laundry detergent (liquid, dry or pods)

bar soap

toothpaste

canned vegetables low salt

canned soup

plastic Walmart - type bags

PLEASE RECYCLE YOUR WATER BOTTLES, WE DONT NEED ANY MORE AT THIS TIME.
