Good afternoon St. Stephen Families,
On Tuesday, the school was filled with students dressed as their favorite saints throughout the ages. I love seeing them share what they have learned about these role models of our faith.
Congratulations to our winning cars at Trunk or Treat. You can see their pictures below. The best costume was awarded to Baby Yoda who remained elusive and missed his photo op. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the evening a success!
As a reminder for everyone, if you wish to have your child celebrate their birthday at school with their friends, you must let the teachers know two weeks in advance and the only option is ice cream sundaes provided by the school. Please do not bring in any food to be shared at lunch or passed out at the end of the day. There are times when treats may be allowed (i.e., passing out Valentines at the end of the day, Middle School Breakfast, etc.), but everything must be cleared through the office. If the teacher wishes to have food in the classroom at any other time, it must be tied to an educational unit and the teacher will make the request. Thank you for understanding.
All school families and Parishioners are invited to join us for our Veteran's Day Ceremony on November 11. School students will be present and participate in the ceremony as we come together to pray, remember, and honor those who served and are currently serving our country. The Knights of Columbus will also present their flag folding ceremony. Students will wear their Make a Difference t-shirt with their PE shorts. They may also add patriotic accessories (red, white, and blue hair accessories, socks, jewelry, hats, shoes, nail polish, etc.) but no face painting or hair dye. We will begin our annual Walkathon right after the ceremony.
The Make a Difference Walkathon will take place during the school day on November 11. All students will walk to help raise funds for the school. Each year, families are required to raise $200 through their participation in the Walkathon and Spirit Raffle. The funds raised through the Walkathon will support the purchase of additional iPads for the students. With the increase in enrollment and the need to replace older iPads, our goal is to purchase a minimum of 30 iPads. Therefore, we need everyone's support in raising $100 per family in order to make this a reality. Also, remember that this year we are donating 10% of our funds raised to My Warriors Place in Ruskin. We strongly encourage families to split the $200 requirement between the two fundraisers. Anyone who does not meet this requirement by the end of the Spirit Raffle will be billed through FACTS for any amount still owed.
November 11 is also our Parent/Teacher Conference day. If you have not heard from your child's teacher yet and you wish to have a conference, please be sure to contact the teacher. Students are expected to attend the conference as it will be student-led.
There are many great events happening over the next few weeks. Please take the time to read all of Tidbits to learn more. Tidbits is your best source of information for what is happening at school. Last week many of you found my secret message but the first person to find it was Michael, a parent of a 6th grade student, who saw it exactly 3 minutes after posting. He was fast and the prize was a $50 gift card to Risse Brothers. Keep reading Tidbits as there may be more secret messages in the future.
Peace,
Linda Umoh

The sign is located on the corner of our school parking lot and will be viewed and celebrated for the entire week. A PTCO member will be responsible for putting up the sign, and after the week is done the sign will be sent home with your student for you to keep or to reuse for another week in the future!

How it works:
If you have an existing sign, the cost is $30 for the week. If we need to order a new sign, the cost is $50 for the week. Please make payments through the school's front office.
