RCC Schedules Virtual Information Session for High School Seniors

Rappahannock Community College is hosting a virtual information session for high school seniors on November 30 from 6 pm to 7 pm. Students, parents, and guardians are invited to learn about RCC’s programs, application and financial aid process, scholarships, and other information to help them as they decide on a path after graduation.


Breakout sessions by program area include Business and Workforce; Transfer and Guaranteed Admissions after RCC; Psychology and Social Work; IT; Health Sciences; Sonography; and more.

NATURALIST PADDLE

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring a Naturalist Paddle at Beaverdam Park on Sunday, November 12 from 3:00-5:00 pm. We will explore the lake and its wildlife residents. The fee is $5 with your equipment or $15 with the park’s rental equipment. The deadline to register is November 5.


OWL WALK

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring an Owl Walk on Saturday, November 18 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Beaverdam Park. The fee is $5 and the deadline to register is November 10.


THE FULL HIKE

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring The Full Hike (9.5 miles) on Saturday, November 18 at 10:00 am at Beaverdam Park. It’s a 9.5-mile hike so bring water and snacks. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. The registration fee is $5 and the deadline to register is November 11.


STAR WINTER GAMES

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring STAR Winter Games for ages 6-18 on Fridays, December 1 through February 16, from 6-7:30 pm at Botetourt. STAR is an athletic games and social program for kids with special needs. The fee is $15, and the registration deadline is November 27.


BINGO

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring Bingo for ages 55 and over on Wednesday, November 29 from 10:30 am to Noon at the Stewart Building. Winnings are prizes - no cash. The fee is $10 and the deadline to register is November 22.


ZUMBA

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring Zumba on Mondays and Wednesdays in December from 6:45-7:45 pm at Abingdon. The fee is $8 per day if you sign up for the whole month or $9 per day for individual days. The deadline to register is November 21.


CHAIR YOGA

Parks, Recreation & Tourism is sponsoring Chair Yoga on Mondays and/or Wednesdays in December from 10:00-11:00 am at the Stewart Building. Class fee is $8 per day if you sign up for the entire month or $9 per day for individual days. Classes begin Monday, December 4, registration deadline is November 27.
