It's Renewal Season!

Happy November! Along with the cooler temperatures and the falling leaves, autumn brings IVMA Membership Renewal season.

The 2026 IVMA membership renewal notices were mailed in mid-October. Help us keep administrative costs low by renewing early — you’ll save the Association time and resources and reduce the number of reminders we send.

You can always go ahead and renew online at anytime on the IVMA website by logging in. If you need help, feel free to call the IVMA office - we're here to help!

Thank you for your support of the Veterinary Profession!

Be Aware of Spotted Laternfly Insects

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) is asking Iowans to be on the lookout for spotted lanternfly (SLF) insects. The colorful but invasive and destructive insect is native to Asia and was unintentionally introduced into Pennsylvania in 2014. SLF has now found its way to nearly 20 states, often spreading by the movement of infested material or items containing egg masses.

In September, the United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (USDA-APHIS), and the USDA confirmed a SLF after being reported by a community member in Des Moines County.

If you spot SLF in Iowa, please call the IDALS Entomology and Plant Science Bureau at 515-725-1470 or e-mail Entomology@IowaAgriculture.gov. You may also contact your local county Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office.
