PROPERTY TAX RELIEF FOR FULTON COUNTY SENIORS

FOR RESIDENTS AGE 70 AND OLDER

School District Ad Valorem Tax; Provide Homestead Exemption

(Act 223, HB 776)

A new bill has been introduced that would give Fulton County homeowners age 70 and older a 50% break on their school property taxes.

If passed and approved by voters, the measure would create a homestead exemption cutting the school district portion of property taxes in half for eligible seniors. The bill also outlines who qualifies, how to apply, and when the exemption would take effect.

(Act 327, HB 777)

A new bill proposes a 25% reduction in Fulton County school property taxes for homeowners who are 65 and older.

If approved by voters, the bill would create a homestead exemption that lowers the school district portion of property taxes by one-quarter for eligible seniors. It also explains who qualifies, how to apply, and when the exemption would take effect.
