Signing & Tryouts

Winter Tryouts for 12U-18U begin on Sunday, November 24.

Prior to the Winter Tryout Period, Volleyball Alberta will be updating the LOI Registry where athletes/families can see how many LOIs have been signed for teams that have participated in Re-signing or Fall Tryouts.

Please be advised that a 2025 Signing & Tryouts survey will be available in early December. Volleyball Alberta looks forward to hearing your feedback on this process again this season as we work to support effective club volleyball tryouts.

Season Schedule

Some previously “TBD” tournament locations have been updated in the 2025 Indoor Season Schedule, available on our Club General Info page under 2025 Competition Regulations & Season Planning. Volleyball Alberta staff are working diligently to confirm facilities for the two remaining tournaments with TBD locations and we appreciate your patience while we finalize these important event logistics.

Tournament Registration

Tournament registration for 2025 Premiers & Provincials opened on October 16. Please be reminded that the deadline for 14U-18U Premier 1 registration is December 11 @ 11:59pm. See the schedule on our website club general info page for all important dates.

EventConnect - Hotel Booking Portal Opens December 1st!

All teams travelling for Premiers & Provincials are encouraged to book their accommodations through the EventConnect Hotel Booking Portal. This is an easy to use online platform that helps sports organizations reduce time spent on administrative tasks like booking hotels, and sending team alerts.

Volleyball Alberta and EventConnect have pre-selected hotels in order to provide teams with the best options on location, value, and amenities. EventConnect also allows us to hold hotels to "rate integrity"; prices cannot increase closer to the tournament dates or vary by night. Teams are guaranteed one price for their booking and make every effort to block each team together in the hotel. Club Hosted Tournaments

Volleyball Alberta is now accepting applications for club hosted tournaments. Volleyball Alberta registered clubs in good standing can apply to have their 12U-18U tournament sanctioned, which provides the tournament with coverage under the Volleyball Alberta insurance policy and assignment of certified referees to that event. Approved tournaments will be posted as sanctioned on our website within 2 business days of submission. More information, including the application form and sanctioned tournament listings, is available on our Club Hosted Tournaments page. Team Alberta Updates for 2025

GMTM is our platform to apply for Indoor Team Alberta Identification Camps. Look for this to open up on December 1^st, 2024. Team AB ID camps are by invitation only and the application through GMTM must happen in order for this to take place. Coaches will review applications and invites to the ID camps will be sent a few weeks prior to the scheduled camp.

Early Stages Grant - There will be 2 intakes for this grant. Intake #1 has been extended to December 7th. Intake #2 will be open Jan 5th - Feb 5th.
