Core Knowledge at Crossroads
We are excited to invite you to our Core Knowledge at Crossroads event this year! Crossroads Middle School History Teacher and Core Knowledge Coordinator Bruce Freeberg will virtually host an evening gathering to share the importance of the Core Knowledge sequence, and how it is effectively taught and practiced here at Crossroads.
Meet Sue, Crossroads New Middle School Assistant
Sue Manory has joined our team as our Middle School Assistant, and has already begun to help with the lunch program and other middle school projects. Sue brings with her a wealth of experience, and we are so excited to have her on the team!
STEM Certificate at Crossroads
The New Hampshire Academy of Science (NHAS) helps support STEM at Crossroads by providing our students with mentored guidance in experiments in the new lab. NHAS professional scientists also work with our faculty to ensure the STEM track students have well-rounded and fulfilling Middle School STEM education. Click below to learn more about how your child can earn a STEM certificate and high school credit at Crossroads.
Stuff-a-Truck Coat Drive
On Friday, November 19, the second grade class will be collecting gently-used outgrown coats, jackets, snowsuits, or nearly-new gloves, mittens, and hats for the Upper Valley Haven. Many local families can be helped as the cold weather arrives by receiving these outgrown items.

Let's Stuff-a-Truck for our neighbors!
Cracking Kids' Secret Code
We invite you to attend a workshop with Dr. Chris Thurber on Thursday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m. to learn new ways to:

  • Build stronger connections with children.
  • Decode subtext of what young people say.
  • Empathize with underlying emotions.
  • Level up communication skills.
  • Build the kind of trust and respect that makes kids want to listen and follow directions.
Costume Needs
We are thrilled to begin our middle school production of Into the Woods Jr.! Now that Halloween has passed, we invite you to share any old costume pieces for the show!
Seeking Kayaks for Summer Program
As the cold weather approaches, some faculty members are already planning for our Summer Programming! This year, Mr. McGuigan hopes to run a kayaking camp, and is seeking Kayaks. If you, or someone you know, is able to donate, rent, or sell a number of kayaks for our program, please reach out to Mr. McGuigan for more details.
CAPA Alumni Spotlight
Sierra Flagg'17
I believe the virtues got me to where I am today. Learning the Core Knowledge and Core Virtues so early on made me more confident in my decisions later on. I have used perseverance every day of my life, but definitely in some situations more than others. As many of my teachers know, I hiked a lot in my young life. Some hikes were harder than others, but it was the feeling of accomplishment and hard work, and knowing I persevered through. That is why I chose the military. The feeling of sheer pride and hard work, and looking back and seeing my perseverance is exactly what I want in life.
