Tomorrow, November 10th is Yoforit Night!
With there being no school on Wednesday, tomorrow is the perfect time to have a fun night out with some delicious frozen yogurt. Yoforit Night is a fundraising event where a percentage of the sales go to support MCS. All sales between 5 pm - 8 pm on the second Tuesday of the month go directly to support our school. Families can also go there right after school to get a frozen treat - Just let the staff know you are there on behalf of MCS and those sales will also get added to the final total.

Other Yoforit days:
December 8th / January 12th / February 9th / March 9th

In honor of our military veterans, we give tribute to those who have served and those that are still serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Veterans Day is a good time to remember that our freedom isn't guaranteed. It's protected by the men and women in our Armed Services.
To those who secure our way of life...Thank you!

Friday, November 20th, we will hold our annual Thanksgiving Feast! Due to ongoing restrictions, each plate will be individually packaged and served in the classrooms rather than at the church as it has been in prior years. We ask that parents provide $4.00 per student to help cover the cost of the meal.

Our thanks go to Sultan Red Apple, Sara Peterson, and other parent volunteers for the their help and support with this wonderful event!

A huge thank you to all who participated in our poinsettia fundraiser sale! We exceeded our goals and sold 580 plants and made $3,450. These funds will be used toward the much needed installation of a new heating/air system in the older part of the building. Thank you all for your generosity and support of our school!

Plants are due to arrive at the school on Friday, November 20th. If you are available on this day please let us know, as we may need some extra hands to distribute all the plants.

Parent / Teacher Conference are Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24. Emails have been sent out to all families with students kindergarten through eighth grade with your scheduled conference time. If you did not receive an email yet, please contact Dena Bobinger at or call 360-794-8200.
A big thank you to all our parents who have been helping out with building and ground maintenance, recess, morning drop off, pizza days and so much more.
And a special thank you to Mr. Ytreeide for his hard work cleaning up the fall leaves!

MATCHING CONTRIBUTIONS: Does the company you work for (Boeing, Microsoft, etc.) match contributions you make to a non-profit company? Take a moment to find out. When you donate money to the school for a fundraiser or any other reason, follow your company's system to record it and designate MCS to receive matching funds! (If someone you know works at a participating company, they can also designate MCS!)

We are still looking for substitute teachers. If you know someone who would like to substitute teach for us please contact Elaine Obbink.

The Moms in Prayer group has started once again. This group provides a good way for moms to connect with other moms, support each other, and most importantly pray together. This is a very open and welcoming group. Feel free to share as much or as little as you would like, ask for prayers, or simply sit with us to enjoy the love and support of other moms in the same stage of life.

The group meets every other Monday at 9am in the MCS library. We understand schedule constraints so please feel free to come when you are able.

We look forward to meeting you and praying with you!

Our scripture theme for this year is based on Hebrews 11:1-3
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible."
