Client Ends Two Years of Homelessness
with Help from the HSC
Meet Manuel! He spent over 2 years in prison and when released found himself experiencing homelessness. Manuel has been struggling with medical issues; he recently had a hip replacement and needs another. However, he has been unable to do so until he has housing. He has been staying outside on the streets in the area surrounding the Campus for about one year.

On November 4th Manuel moved into permanent housing! With help from HSC's Coordinated Entry, Outreach and Navigation teams, and move-in items from HSC's In-kind Donation program, Manuel was able to end his homelessness. He is filled with gratitude. And his story is one of many that happen every day at the Campus, with the HSC teams and our partners helping people make the journey from street to home.

Episode 21 of
The McQuaid Mission
on the
SOCIAL TELEVISION NETWORK
The season of giving is here – that time of year when many open their wallets to donate to valuable causes and charities. But while our hearts might be in the right place, does our approach need to change? We look at the power of the “Healthy Giving” concept and hear why it’s changing the way some plan to give this holiday season.

Plus, for many, a pet is considered a beloved member of the family. But for those experiencing homelessness or on the brink, caring for that animal can lead to some tough decisions. We’ll go inside one local operation helping people and pets in crisis.

In the latest edition of McQuaid Mission Mythbusters, Amy Schwabenlender and the panel discuss the myth that the homeless are not part of our local community.

Special guests include Jerome Parker, Leader, Healthy Giving Council givesmartaz.org and Shana Ellis, Executive Director, ASU Action Nexus.
