Thank You Veterans and All Who Serve our Country!

MSDLT has a long history of alumni and staff serving our country, and the Lawrence Township School Foundation is so grateful to all who have given and currently give of themselves for our freedom. Thank you for  all of your sacrifices!

Enjoy a few examples of how our schools support our troops and meet our four-legged vet currently serving our schools.

On November 5, 1943, a Bond Rally was held at Lawrence Central High School raising $35,000. The slogan of the event was "A Bond for every boy in the service." The evening was a success and  served as a symbol of the goal that can be attained by a community united in a common cause. To read more about the event supporting our service men, click here for the online version of the 1944 yearbook.

This year first grade students at Amy Beverlan d Elementary are  sending care  packages to the members of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne, who are serving in Afghanistan. LC Class of 2010 alum, Phillip Powell, is part of this unit and is the son of Margaret Powell, the students' teacher. The platoon received their first package in September, and the class is planning on sending another package this month. What a great way to teach these young people about showing their appreciation for those who serve our country!

Of c ourse we can't forget four-legged vete ran, Axel.  After serving in Afghanis tan, Axel joined the Lawrence Townsh ip family. M SDLT is benefiting from the added protection of having a former active duty military dog i n ou r sc h ools. And...the students just love Axel!

This week many schools are planning their Veterans Day tributes. Be sure to watch social media and see how they honor all who serve.
THANK YOU!

Our Mission:
Our mission is to bring alumni together, celebrating the past successes of our schools while supporting the future generations of Lawrence Township.

Wow...it is hard to believe that daylight savings time has arrived and we are well into the month of November. One of my favorite things about November is Thanksgiving. The spirit of the day fills the month and serves as a reminder to appreciate others. Thank you for all you do to help make our LT community strong. Our mission is only possible with the help of you.

Enjoy this month's eNewsletter and please remember to share information with me about things  you would like to see featured in this newsletter. Please contact me by clicking  here.

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!

We appreciate you!
