Loop Trail Opening Next Week!

Ohno Construction has completed adding signage, striping, and fencing to the new Arboretum Loop Trail. Our partners at Seattle Parks and Recreation have informed us that the trail is just about ready and will be open to the public by next Friday, November 10. Come see and enjoy! Plenty of planting remains to be done along the trail in the coming months to get it ready for the grand opening in early April 2018.

Birds of the Arboretum

In 1942, a young naturalist named Earl Larrison documented 133 bird species in the Arboretum. Eighty years later, in the fall issue of the Arboretum Bulletin, photographer and birder Larry Hubbell revisits Larrison's species list and compares it to what he sees today in the park and nearby wetlands. He also discusses how we can all help to preserve and foster avian diversity in our backyards and city.
