Volume 16 | November 2019
Holiday and specialty beers debut throughout November
Noel Classique Belgian Golden Ale
Introducing our second holiday ale and first to be released this month. Brewed with a concentrated Pilsner wort, we add a bit of Worth County Honey and balance it with a noble German hop.

Released: Friday, Nov. 1
Available in the Tap Room or in six-pack bottles at Shade Tree Liquor in Northwood or Mill Street Liquor in Lake Mills.
OG: 1074
ABV: 8.4%
IBU: 57
Color: 7 (copper)

Mr. Chesterfield Strong Scotch Ale
Mr. C comes in from the cold every year the day after Thanksgiving and hangs at the bar until Ølfest in February. Each year is a different formulation, but it's always malty and potent. This year it's a Scotch Wee Heavy. It has a clean, mellow maltiness and strong but approachable character. All English malt and hops.

Released: Friday, Nov. 29
Available in the Tap Room or in six-pack bottles at Shade Tree Liquor in Northwood or Mill Street Liquor in Lake Mills.
OG: 1091
ABV: 8.9%
IBU: 21
Color: 13

BishopWit Wheat
This is a temporary replacement for our year-round Bishopweizen. Rather than Bavarian, this is a Belgian wheat, using unmalted flaked wheat for half of the grist to provide a hazy appearance and creamy texture. Spiced with dried bitter orange peel and crushed coriander seeds.

Released: Now available in the Tap Room.
OG: 1051
ABV: 5.9%
IBU: 11
Color: 5
Felttur Hazy IPA
T his fall we'll be adding a third IPA to our lineup, Felttur (Field Trip) Hazy IPA. This "kveik" yeast strain was isolated from a mixed culture that belonged to Harald Opshaug, a farmhouse brewer in Stranda, Norway. It is a clean fermenting yeast and has tolerated temperatures up to 95°F (35°C) while finishing fermentation within three to four days. That's incredibly warm and super fast.

Expect it to be citrus and fruit forward, with a clean and pleasant bitter finish.

Released: Friday, Nov. 15th
OG: 1055
ABV: 5.1%
IBU: low
Color: 5

Across the bar...
Misty Hakes
M isty grew up in Rockford, Ia, and moved to Northwood in February 2001.

She celebrated her 10-year Anniversary working here at WBC this past July, joining not long after we opened.

"My first craft beer was actually before Peter opened up to the public, he invited us from the bank and some others from town over to the pub, and we got to sample his beers. At that time I liked what was called Slim Jim, which has been reinvented to the Strange Fellas Helles.

"I don't have a favorite (WBC beer). I like them all too much to pick just one. I usually try the newest and go with that."

Misty has had a big year. In May she married her longtime partner, Tom Hakes, purchased an acreage, and has gotten more involved with her Jeep club LROC -- Ladies Rock Offroad Club.
Beehive Ballroom for the Holidays
S earching for a special spot to host your holiday party? Look no further than the Bee Hive Ballroom. Nestled above the taproom on the second floor of Worth Brewing, this venue has been restored back to its vintage 1896 glory with the original tin ceilings, Douglas Fir floor, stage and fixtures.

Contact us today to reserve either the Ballroom or the Speakasy Parlor for your holiday event, or for any special occasion where you need a beautiful venue with great beer.
Rates
We like to brew and sell great beer, not party space. That's why our pricing is unique. When you reserve the Ballroom for $500 you get $500 back in beer! That's right, as long as you finish your tab it is a free room. You will get your own bartender and access to all of our resources so you can focus on the event, not the planning.
