GIRLS SOCCER
GIRLS SOCCER WINS REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!
For only the second time in Churchill history, our girls soccer team won the 4A West Region 1 Championship! On Tuesday night, the Bulldogs beat a tough Whitman team 3-2 to earn the Region title. Senior midfielder, Shira Litman, scored a goal from outside the box to win the game in sudden death overtime. The two other goals were scored in the first half by Litman's first goal of the game and a second-half header senior forward Lauryn Gladd .

The quarterfinals match is at Quince Orchard HS at 6pm tomorrow. Come cheer on our Dawgs in their quest for the state title!
Girls soccer will be holding a fundraiser at Shake Shack on Monday, Nov. 11th! It's a half day so head over for lunch or dinner and mention Churchill Soccer. Click HERE for the flyer.
FIELD HOCKEY
FIELD HOCKEY WINS REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!
Girls Varsity Field Hockey ended the regular season undefeated (12-0) and advanced to the post-season Tournament Bracket. Because they were undefeated, the Bulldogs will have home field advantage to host opposing teams at several playoff games.
The team defeated Einstein 5-0 on Monday October 28. Freshman forward Grace Jennings , junior forward Natalie Heshmat , freshman midfielder Lexie Levitt , junior forward Anusha Anand , and senior forward Milena Costantino scored goals.  Levitt , senior forward Emily Shimabukuro , and senior midfielder Becca Schiff had assists.

Churchill defeated Wootton 3-0 in the Regional Final match on October 30 to claim the title of 4A South Region II Champion and will move on to the State quarterfinal round! Freshman Grace Jennings scored all three goals!

Churchill will host Old Mill TODAY at 4:00pm for the quarterfinal match. Come out and cheer them on to STATES!!
CHEER
Varsity cheer is having a great season so far! The Bulldogs took first place (with a very high score) in the Whitman Invitational two weeks ago and, last
Saturday night, we took second place in our Counties competition and are now headed to semi finals seeded 1st place overall.

Here’s to a great rest of the season for this hard working and high achieving team!
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
October has been a great month for the Churchill Girl’s volleyball teams. The Varsity team ended their regular season 12-2 seeding them FIRST in their State Region bracket! JV ended their season at 8-3 and we could not be more proud of JV. They fought hard all season and really looked great!
In addition to playing volleyball we celebrated Dig Pink and Senior Night in October. For the Dig Pink match on Oct 7 th  the gym was decked out in pink. The refs were in pink and Coach Cindy even painted her hair bright pink. The intent of Dig Pink is to raise awareness of the need for breast cancer research and to raise funds to help with that research. Through on-line donations and funds raised at the match, which were just over $600 for the night, we raised a total of $2545. Plus we beat Whitman in 3! What a great night with cheering crowd many who were in pink, also!
On Oct 17 th  we celebrated our seven glorious seniors ( Serena, Julie, Haley, Leeza, Madi, Colette, and Ashley ) and also our primary senior boy manager ( Aidan ). The seven seniors played the whole first set together with no underclassman and beat the WJ starters!

Go Seniors! It took five sets but we beat a very determined WJ squad 3-2 with a huge crowd cheering us on.

Our next volleyball match is our Region Semi-final on Monday, Nov. 1, at home at 6pm. Please come out and cheer us on! Go Dawgs!!!
CROSS COUNTRY
The Cross Country teams competed in the MoCo Championships last week. The boys' team placed 6th in the county and the girls' team came away with a 9th place finish. Both teams competed in the regional meet yesterday and qualified for the state finals!
