NYMB Donor Mom Experience: Shradha
"I am a mom of an 18-month boy currently living in the USA. I am a Native Indian. Breastmilk donation is not common in our culture and many people do not have knowledge about it. But it is an emerging concept and it has been initiated in some cities across India.
Thanks to milk banks!"

Save the Date for Giving Tuesday!
NYMB has been thrilled with your response to Giving Tuesday in the past. This year we are raising funds for the cost of the electrical work to install a generator and for an autoclave. We've had two power outages in 2020 and must have the electrical work in place for the next storm. An autoclave in the lab will be an added plus for us to sterilize and reuse items. This will help to reduce waste at NYMB.
Thank you for thinking of us this Giving Tuesday!

World Prematurity Day
World Prematurity Day is on November 17!
March of Dimes encourages you to speak up and take action for moms and babies.
"Premature birth and its complications are the largest contributors to infant death in the U.S. and globally. This urgent health crisis is not going away—U.S. preterm birth rates have increased for the third year in a row—and we must do something about it."
"The end of my parental leave on the horizon, I reached out to local experts to help me prepare for pumping at work. In these conversations, I learned that many educators may not be aware of their rights to pump at work, and many choose not to do so because of the associated challenges. The article that follows is a product of my efforts to navigate this process as an NJEA member and new mother in the time of COVID-19."
