The Gift of Lights
The Gift of Lights, efficiently powered by Indiana Michigan Power, begins on Friday, November 26!

This holiday tradition is every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5-9 pm, and ends on December 19. Don’t miss the chance to visit Santa, ride the train, walk around the Zoo, and make wonderful memories with family and friends.

Admission to The Gift of Lights is $11 for adults and $6 for children (babies 2 and under are free. Zoo Member admission is discounted: $8 for adults and $4 for children.

Santa will be at the Zoo every night from 6-8 pm in the River Run Yurt by the otters, and on Sundays, you can Meet a Princess from 6-8 pm!

The Gift of Lights is also generously sponsored by UFP Industries of Granger, WNDU, and U-93.

Learning Fun For Kids
If you’re looking for something fun for kids to do over the holidays, our Education department has several options! Zoo Members receive a 10% discount to these Education programs.

For kids in grades K-6, there are Winter Break day camps! Each camp will investigate how animals grow and change throughout the seasons. Camps are designed with age-appropriate games, discussions, activities, and animal encounters.

December 21, 9 am – 3 pm | 2nd-3rd grade | $45
December 22, 9 am – 3 pm | 4th-6th grade | $45


Or you can get a Yule Box for Zoo learning at home!

Yule Boxes include the necessary materials and instructions to do a winter science experiment, a craft, and a scavenger hunt at home. They also include an animal plushie and a painting by one of our animal friends.


Zoo Year’s Eve is the last Zoo event of the year!

Designed for kids from kindergarten through 6th grade, Zoo Year’s Eve will have crafts, games, a walk through the Zoo, and a visit from ambassador animals. It’s a great way to say goodbye to 2021 and hello to 2022!

Zoo Year’s Eve is December 31, 10 am – 12 pm. It’s $25 per person, and Zoo Members receive a 10% discount.


Season’s Greetings is a great way to extend your holiday fun. Drink hot chocolate and eat cookies while you watch our ambassador animals paint on a canvas or ornament. Then add your own finishing touches before heading out to experience The Gift of Lights.

This program is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $15 for children (babies 2 and under are free) and includes admission to The Gift of Lights. Zoo Members receive a 10% discount. Choose from November 26, December 4, and/or December 12, 4:30 – 5:30 pm.
