CBC would like to recognize SAMHSA and the New York State Health Foundation (NYSHealth) for sponsoring many of the featured trainings this month, and its partnership with the NYS Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, which is also made possible through SAMHSA funding.

All featured trainings are hosted via McSilver Institute's website and require a username and password to register. If you don't already have a username and password for McSilver's website, you can easily create one!
Postpartum Yoga
Trainer: Lynne Lakshmi Pidel (Integral Yoga Institute of New York)

Postpartum Yoga provides comfort and relaxation following birth. Taught by a certified Integral Yoga instructor, this session will offer gentle stretching, soothing breathwork and an opportunity to share personal experiences. Participants will leave with techniques and practices to reduce stress. Babies aged six weeks to one year are welcome to attend!

Sound Healing
Trainer: Rev. Laksmi Scalise (Integral Yoga Institute of New York)

Sound vibrations provide a powerful and soothing experience for deep healing, even at the cellular level—all things vibrate, including the human body and mind! Using singing bowls, gongs and bells, the practitioner creates an environment of deep relaxation and heightened awareness that combine to provide a source of renewal for participants.
Understanding / Talking with Your Clients about Suicide Risk and Suicide 
Thursday, November 4 (1:30-3pm)

Conversations around suicide can be challenging but are deeply important in our line of work. In this training, Care Managers will learn how to work with at-risk service recipients and to support those that are contemplating suicide. This information is integral to Care Managers’ professional growth and saves lives. While this training is geared toward Health Home Care Managers, all are welcome to attend.

In alignment with the NYS Department of Health's training standards for Health Home Care Managers, CBC Health Home welcomes and requires all care management staff to attend this CBC Training Institute's training.

CBC Health Home will track attendance at these trainings and will provide those unable to attend an opportunity to view at a later date.

10 Elements Training
Tuesday, November 9 (10:30am-12pm)

This interactive training will review the 10 Elements form that is part of the initial and ongoing development of the Care Plan. Attendees will learn how to appropriately complete this form, while using a Person-Centered Care approach. This training is recommended for Health Home Serving Children Care Managers and supervisors.

In alignment with the NYS Department of Health's training standards for Health Home Care Managers, CBC Health Home welcomes and requires all Care managers, whether HH or HHSC to attend this CBC Training Institute's training.

CBC Health Home will track attendance at these trainings and will provide those unable to attend an opportunity to view at a later date.
Yoga for COVID-19: Visualizations for Releasing, Healing and Support

Mindfulness and visualization can be powerful tools that support recovery, especially when incorporated with a gentle yoga practice. Learn the techniques that Hamsa Spagnola used to speed up her recovery after six weeks of living with COVID-19. This class will create a space for attendees to:

● share their concerns and experience of COVID-19;
● chant to create a peaceful vibration within the self;
● release tension and stress;
● practice gentle breathwork to help increase lung capacity;
● practice gentle postures to help expand/open the heart center and back muscles; and
● engage in a guided healing visualization to release toxins from the body and mind.

Utilizing the key principals of Trauma-Informed Care and Clinical Crisis Response to address the needs of the residential care workforce, this four-course series will deliver insight and guidance on vicarious and secondary trauma's impact on the daily work of residential care workers. Following a review of core competencies, participants will develop an effective and sustainable self-care plan for their agencies.
