Please note, our November luncheon is one week earlier than our typical 4th Wednesday of the month to give space for Thanksgiving activities.
Join us at the Eagle River VFW Post 9785 to hear from the Alaska Small Business Development Center! They are a HUGE resource for small businesses in our state. They will share information about opportunities for free advising, business plan development, assistance in securing funding, workshop and educational opportunities, tools for growing your business and so much more!
Lunch is provided, feel free to bring a door prize and cash for split-the-pot if you would like to participate!
Please enter the VFW at the back door under the patio, not the main buzzer entrance.
Registration will close at 8pm November 19th.

Newborns in Need
Newborns in Need is focused on providing basic, essential items for the newborn. NIN chapters work with local service partners that focus on providing for new family units who have little resources.Searching for areas of need, NIN develops chapters in areas to serve local communities.
Chapters are led by passionate volunteers who work to meet the needs of babies in their individual communities. Mobilizing all ages of volunteers, Newborns in Need provides the essentials that babies need to thrive and sleep safely as they enter the surroundings they will call home.

My husband Daniel and I live in Eagle River with our four kids (Addison - 15, Gabriel - 13, Bailey - 10, Peyton - 8). We moved to Eagle River in 2021 from Cypress, TX for my husband's job. He is a reservoir engineer with ConocoPhillips. We absolutely love Alaska and are so thankful to live here. My husband and I both graduated from Texas A&M University. I worked for ConocoPhillips and Phillips 66 for several years before deciding to bring Sign Gypsies Anchorage to Alaska. Sign Gypsies is a Texas based company that has 800 locations across the U.S and Canada. When we lived in Texas we would see fun and elaborate signs in neighbor's yards to celebrate birthdays, back to school, and other fun events. When we moved here I realized that this service was missing and thought it would be a great business to start for the Anchorage, Eagle River, and Chugiak communities. We just launched in September and as of right now my husband and my kids help me with sign setups and takedowns. We currently operate out of our garage with plans to expand to a warehouse as the business grows. We can do sign set-ups for basically anything and everything. From birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, graduation, new babies, weddings, open houses, parties, etc. You name it, we can celebrate it!

Join Our Board!
We will have a few general board positions open this fall, would you consider joining us? The time commitment is conservative, we meet 8 times per year on the first Thursday of the month at noon. (No meetings June through August or December) You can join meetings in person or virtually! We ask you attend at least 5 board meetings per year including our mandatory Annual General Meeting in January, and that you are a current member of CERWIB
Our board is the fuel of our organization, helping to plan speakers and events, deciding on ways to help us grow and flourish, and making sure we are the best support system for Women in Business in our area!
