This month's volunteer spotlight is CUP admin Tiffany Bruce.  "I think we all agree that CU/CUP have the best trainers/coaches. I believe what sets CU/CUP apart is we are a community that works to develop young men and women of strong character.  Club staff, parents, and athletes together holding high standards of teamwork, sportsmanship, work ethic, and giving back.  I am a true believer in the phrase 'It takes a village.' The 2016-2017 season is shaping up to be a great one. As always, The CU News is here to share everything going on at Cincinnati United!
CU/CUP Alumni Excel in College Soccer

The college soccer season has less than month left and CU/CUP alumni have been tearing up the field this fall. More than 100 hundred alums from our club have been playing college soccer this fall.

We want to congratulate all of our alumni on a  great fall season, filled with individual awards, team titles, and academic success.


Players Head to Regional and National Events Across the Country

9 girls players and 2 boys players from our club will be competing in the USYS ODP Interregionals taking place this month while one player will be competing with our US Youth National Team.  The ODP event will feature  some of the nation's top players selected from US Youth Soccer  Sta te Association and Regional level evaluations. In each age group, players will attend scheduled training sessions and also compete in  matches against each of the other regional teams. The girls event will take place in Florida while the boys event will take place in Arizona.  Selected CUP/CU Players for the ODP event include:

CUP girls player Kailyn Dudukovich will also be in Florida, competing with the u14/02 Girls National Team. And, CUP Girls DOC Bobby Puppione will also be in Florida as an assistant coach with US U14 Girls National Team.

College Commitments

Coach David Robertson Wins OSYSA 
and Region II Award


CU/CUP coach David Robertson has been named the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association and Region II girls competitive coach of the year. David works with our CUP girls 06, 03, and 99 age groups this season.

"We are proud of David for receiving this award," said Bobby Puppione, CUP Girls Director of Coaching. "David is dedicated to the player development process for each and every player he works with, along with his own personal development as a youth coach. We appreciate the time, passion, and knowledge he brings to the girls teams and the club."

USWNT Player Sam Mewis 
Visits Cincy United























As a part of our relationship with Puma, US Women's National Team player Sam Mewis visited our club to participate in club training, meetings with staff, and discussions with directors and board members. Thank you to Sam and Puma for this great experience.

CU has a first class Juniors Program

The CU Youth Development Academy  is a youth soccer program that provides instruction to our youngest players (U3-U9).  This pro gram is designed to be the developmental bridge from recreational soccer to competitive soccer.  The professional trainers from Cincinnati United will provide age appropriate technical instruction and teach game behaviors to the very youngest players.

"Recruiting Round-Up" 

Recruiting and College Tip of the Month from the twitter handle "NCAA Recruit Tips" @1001RecruitTips -   "Want to play in college? You have to put in extra, consistent effort every day. Work on your weaknesses. Build mental toughness."
"Soccer Term of the Month" 

Each month we will be highlighting soccer terminology. This  is a word you may hear on the field  from your coach, trainer, or player.

The Soccer Term of the Month is: penalty kick.

A penalty kick is a free kick that occurs when a foul is committed inside the 18 yard box.
