Citrine is rare in nature. In the days before modern gemology, its tawny color caused it to be confused with topaz. Today, its attractive color, plus the durability and affordability it shares with most other quartzes, makes it the top-selling yellow-to-orange gem. In the contemporary market, citrine’s most popular shade is an earthy, deep, brownish or reddish orange.

Missing Diamond & Cleaning
A beloved ring, custom made by Diamonds On The Key, enjoyed much wear by its owner, until a small diamond was knocked out of its setting. A singular diamond was matched in size and quality, with prongs re-tipped for added strength, and the ring received an overall steam cleaning, polishing and new bright rhodium finish. The end result was a ring good as new!

Necklace to Ring Makeover
After inheriting a chunky yellow gold and gemstone pendant from a relative, this client turned to Diamonds On The Key to see how the gem could be reset into a piece of jewelry the recipient was more likely to wear and enjoy. A classic cocktail ring design was selected and the emerald cut, smoky topaz gemstone was gently unset from the pendant. A four-prong mounting in 14 karat yellow gold was selected to protect the fragile corners of the gemstone and produced in a size to fit the large gem. The former 18 karat yellow gold pendant setting was applied as a scrap gold credit towards the new ring setting and labor to unset and reset the topaz. The happy client now enjoys an "heirloom" piece of jewelry and can think of her dear relative, each time she wears her new ring!

Chipped Amethyst Ring Replaced
Although generally a very durable gemstone, the Amethyst in this client's ring, designed by Diamonds On The Key, became VERY damaged after non-stop daily wear, while doing heavy gardening and home repairs!!! The ring was shipped from California back to the DOTK office in Florida, with a new identical Amethyst supplied to fit the setting. The ring received polishing to remove scratches and returned good as new to its owner!
