November Climate Solutions Caucus Round-Up

November Engagement:

Members meet with energy generators, grid operators, manufacturers, and security experts.

In mid-November, Members gathered to discuss critical infrastructure supply chain security and resilience. Participants included GE Vernova, Berkshire Hathaway Energy, the National Electrical Manufacturer’s Association, SAFE, PJM Interconnection, and Energy Futures Initiative. 

Caucus staff tour a data center in Ashburn, VA

In mid-July, staff gathered for a roundtable discussion on energy and national security, including the Department of Defense's (DoD) role in carrying out recent Executive Orders on energy, and the importance of innovative tech and infrastructure security in ensuring defense readiness. Staff were joined by the Director of SAFE’s Center for Grid Security, DoD’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Resilience and Optimization, the Director of Idaho National Lab’s Center for Securing Digital Energy Technology, and the Senior Vice President of Policy at Berkshire Hathaway Energy. 

Looking Ahead: 


Caucus staff visited Equinix’s data center and participated in a series of roundtable discussions alongside the data center coalition. Staff were joined by key partners in the data center and grid ecosystem.

 

Looking Ahead:

 

Caucus staff plan to meet in December to discuss coordinated energy investments with global partners including the Australian Embassy, the Embassy of the United Kingdom, and the EU delegation.

 

 

As always, stakeholders are encouraged to approach the Climate Solutions Caucus with priorities and engagement ideas as the 2026 programmatic calendar develops.
