In our latest blog post, Reader-in-Residence, Terry, relays a beautiful story of friendship, reading aloud, and the art of the Hike-U!

Year-Round Book Donations!

We have seen so much success from our weekly book collection dates with Strategic Group and Store & Go! We are now able to collect books for our Big Book Sale year-round; volunteers are on-site (1216 10 Ave SW) every Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to help you out! Click here for more information about acceptable donations, times, and volunteer opportunities.

We are embarking on an exciting new campaign in support of The Children's Reading Place!

Join us over at to participate and to spread the news about our first ever crowdfunding campaign!

Because reading needs a place, and reading needs a place in our lives!

Spotlight On: BLG
Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) have been long-time partners in literacy, celebrating 10 years with us in 2019!

BLG staff and leadership participate in Reading Rallies, Wee Read Relationships, and even sponsor Penbrooke Meadows School's chapter fee; we are so grateful for the many ways they help children become joyful readers!
We need your voice!
Are you a parent, grandparent or caregiver?
Do you work with children aged 0-8 years?
Do you care about children?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, please take 10 minutes to read the Citywide Strategy for All Children and complete the survey. We need your input to make Calgary a city where all children are supported to reach their fullest potential.

We still have a couple of volunteer opportunities for our casino fundraiser on December 11th! You can contact Dawn at to learn more about the shifts and sign-up!
