On the Lighter Side of Things

Karen and I hosted some friends from out of town and out of state last week. Thursday: Rockin' the Rails, Friday:  Block Party, Saturday: Nightmare on Columbia. We sent them home Sunday morning, but Karen and I made it to the Covington Heritage Foundation's phenomenal "Whisperings" at Cemetery #1.

The Blenderz let me sit in on the Congas. That was cool. Per above, they're playing the Marine Corps Ball on November 12th.

Elvis checks out Lost in the 60s with  Tommy Rodwig on guitar and  little brother Dr. Bobby Rodwig  on the keyboard. CHS Class of '76 was out in full force. That was cool.

Dinner at the Seiler and Dr. Saux the Impersonator meets the inimitable Pirateoncologist  Dr. Saux (caring, compassionate and beard of pink).

At Whisperings, Dwight Robertson played his father, Sonny. Mr. Sonny played professionally in the Negro League. Very Cool. Dwight starred at SPS, played for the Oregon Ducks and is better than me on the sax -  last part, not so cool ; ) … #Mouton.

Cougars Win Championship!

In November of 1968, the Covington Cougars were highlighted in the St. Tammany Farmer for their undefeated season.

#74 is Dr. Bobby Rodwig, aforementioned keyboardist for Lost in the 60s. #70 is younger brother, John B. Older brother, Tommy (aforementioned guitarist) was named to Covington High's all - decade team of the 1960's.

#31 is Mayor Mark. Dwight Robertson is better than me in football and on the sax. SMH.

Over time, we will be moving more and more to robotic arm trash pick up. Currently, you should have one trash bin and one recycle bin (though the latter may be used as a supplemental trash bin). You may purchase an additional can (square, not round) at a store or from Coastal for $85.00.
