#Giving Tuesday

Join us on December 1st as we join the #Giving Tuesday movement!  Take a break from the Holiday shopping and commercialism this year and give back to the community.  What a better way to celebrate the Holidays than by giving to those in need.  With The Community Foundation you can support a number of different causes and organizations with just one gift!  So join us on #Giving Tuesday and give a gift of any size just to say you care. 
 


Steven Bruce Daniels, Jr. Scholarship 
The Steven B. Daniels, Jr. Memorial Tobacco Harvest Tournament was held on Friday,October 30th to support the Steven Bruce Daniels, Jr. Scholarship.  It was a lovely day and the scholarship is now endowed due to the support from the tournament!  The scholarship is for Danville-Pittsylvania-Caswell graduates attending either NC State University or Virginia Tech and plans to study in the field of agriculture or has a high school varsity athletics background.
Listening Lunch 

The Community Foundation recently hosted a listening lunch with local attorneys, accountants and bankers to see how we could better serve our community.

Local advisors have worked with individuals over the years to discuss how they can use a gift such as will bequests, beneficiary IRAs, charitable remainder trusts, gifts of life insurance or charitable lead trusts to establish a permanent legacy with The Community Foundation.
Fund Spotlight!


Collins 'Great Outdoors' Fund was established to promote outdoor activities through improvements, enhancements, and beautification. Special consideration is given to nature trails/environments, parks, bird habitats, and outdoor music events. Consideration is also given to the enhancement of tennis activities/facilities in this area.      
Donations can be made to this fund in honor or in memory of a loved one.
