Long Beach Transit Salutes Veterans

LBT salutes Veterans both in the communities we serve and on the LBT team. LBT has over 40 employees who proudly served in the U.S. Armed Forces. To all those who have served, and those who continue to serve, Happy Veterans Day!

First Street Transit Gallery

Public Art Installation

LBT invites you to virtually visit or to take a safe and physically-distanced tour of our First Transit Gallery. You may have already noticed the permanent installation of colorful mosaics and poems written by Long Beach locals featured since its renovation in 2011. As an enhancement to the Gallery, LBT will now partner with local cultural and educational organizations to feature quarterly installations of artwork from the community.

LBT has partnered up with the Arts Council for Long Beach for the inaugural community art installation, featuring mosaics made by local students through the Eye on Design program. Eye on Design guides students through a 15-week course that has them study public art and research their neighborhoods to create pieces that affect positive change.

Holiday Hours

LBT’s bus services, the Transit & Visitor Information Center and Customer Service Call Center will have modified hours on the upcoming holidays.

Holiday Hours for Bus Services on: Thanksgiving, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Modified Hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) for the Call Center and the Transit & Visitor Information Center on: Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Closures for the Call Center and Transit & Visitor Information Center on: Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day and New Year’s Day.

Rodolfo is a Lead Mechanic with LBT, starting his career in the Maintenance and Infrastructure department 21 years ago. His history of building and assembling engines began well before. Rodolfo was 16 years old when he showed his first interest in being a mechanic.
