Elections staff hard at work to complete manual recount by deadline
Cobb Elections workers have started the manual recount of the county’s nearly 400,000 ballots in the presidential race, as instructed by the Georgia Secretary of State. This “recount” is more accurately called an audit.

The usual audit allowed statistical samples of ballots; however with the margin being so narrow in Georgia, a 100 percent full count audit is being conducted by hand.

Some see this as a recount whereas as others are treating it as a code required audit. Staff started the code audit today and will continue through 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18. The code audit is being conducted at Jim R Miller Park and the public is allowed to observe.
