Welcome to the newest edition of the Cornerstones enewsletter. The BACnet International community benefits from information and education shared through Cornerstones, the organization's monthly electronic publication. This publication is distributed to members of the BACnet International community, connecting corporate, integrator, site, student and individual end users.

BTL Working Group Releases New BTL Test Package

Latest Version 18.0 includes testing for BACnet Secure Connect

The BACnet Testing Laboratories' Working Group (BTL-WG) has released BTL Test Package v18.0, which contains updated testing procedures to be used by manufacturers to pre-test products for BACnet compliance, and to test devices qualifying for BTL Certification.

With this release of the BTL Test Package, test coverage has been extended to include most functionality contained in BACnet Protocol Revision 18, along with some functionality from later Protocol Revisions, including BACnet Secure Connect.

BACnet Secure Connect Updates

Updates to BACnet Secure Connect continue throughout 2020.

BACnet International's BACnet/SC Interoperability Acceleration Program completed its webinar series and released the Reference Implementation and Test Bench software - tools to assist in system testing and QA automation, shorten the BACnet/SC learning curve, and dramatically reduce time spent on test system configuration and operation.
BACnet Testing Laboratories' Working Group released addendum 16.1-bj of the BTL Test Package 16.1.2. which contains tests to be used by manufacturers and Test Organizations to test BACnet/SC functionality for BTL Certification, as well as version 18.0 as mentioned above.
ASHRAE released the latest BACnet standard - ASHRAE 135-2020 - which included the BACnet Secure Connect addendum.

In the coming weeks we will be announcing a new offering for BACnet/SC Interoperability Acceleration Program participants, Corporate Members, and non-member companies. We believe this will be well received so keep an eye out for the announcement.
