Do you have a technical topic or application that would be of interest to our membership?
We are looking for
quality articles for Foundations, BACnet International's educational publication. This publication is more technical than the BACnet International Journal and covers more in-depth application and industry developments.

Please feel free to pass this information on to any parties who may also be interested in contributing to this publication.
DISTRIBUTION:
In addition to sending Foundations to all BACnet International members, this issue will be widely distributed at ASHRAE's AHR Expo in Las Vegas in January.
DEADLINES:
Completed articles, along with corresponding graphics, must be received by
Monday, November 28, 2016 and should be between 1,200 and 2,500 words.

International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) 2017
BACnet International will once again be exhibiting at the world's largest HVAC marketplace in
Booth C1588 at the AHR Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center,
January 30 - February 1, 2017.
According to the show management, approximately 80 percent of exhibitors indicate they will be displaying new or enhanced products, systems and technologies in Las Vegas.
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
The AHR Expo will also feature a wide array of educational opportunities. Throughout the week, contractors, engineers and other show attendees will have the chance to participate in numerous free seminars and presentations, paid programming and professional certification exams.
A series of topics will be covered in free seminars and presentations, offered across several umbrella categories, during the first two days of the show. These include:
- Industry Initiatives & Best Practices - Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about such issues as "Selling Profitable Hydronic Radiant Systems," "Global Trends in the HVAC Market," "Humidity and Occupants: What the Latest in Humidity Means for You," and others.
- Building Automation - Addressing such topics as "Unifying a Building to Reduce Energy Consumption with BACnet," "The Future of Building Automation- The Self Learning Edge Revolution," and "Intelligent Buildings and Cybersecurity," these sessions will provide the latest information on building automation's evolving relationship to HVACR practices.
In excess of
100 presentations will be held in the Show's New Product & Technology Theaters, featuring the latest innovations being introduced by AHR Expo exhibitors in 2017.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in more than
50 free seminars on a range of topics presented by endorsing associations and other HVACR industry groups. These industry expert-led one- and two-hour sessions have been designed to allow for easy integration of valuable education time into attendees' overall Show agendas.

Originally built in 1940 to train soldiers for World War II, today the Drill Hall Gallery is part of the Australian National University. In 1984, the interior was remodeled to create an art gallery and in 2004, a Heritage order was placed on the building. This heritage-listed building is now an exhibition space for the ANU art collection and temporary exhibitions.
A unique challenge that this project presented was its tight deadline for an upcoming exhibition. The engineering, installation, and commissioning of the project was critical to provide the conditions required for the gallery.
Mechanical equipment controlled includes a fan coil unit for both pre-conditioning and gallery control, a chilled water and heating water plant with variable speed drives, as well as exhaust fans.
Strict air quality, temperature, and humidity control were achieved with the Reliable Controls MACH-System. RC-Archive was installed to allow the gallery to have access to records of condition for ongoing monitoring.

BACnet International Hosted Network Party and Educational Track
On November 1 - 2, 2016, BACnet International exhibited in Booth #707 at the Mirage Events Center, Las Vegas, as a
Platinum Sponsor and host of the Networking Party at NFMT Vegas, The Premier West Coast Facilities Management Conference and Expo. All Corporate Member logos were proudly displayed, and six Corporate Members exhibited at the show as well.
BACnet International also
hosted the Building Automation track of the educational sessions which included several members who presented topics including Internet of Things (IoT), reducing energy consumption with BACnet, BACnet to the cloud, tags as the future of building automation, the life cycle value proposition of building automation, and chiller/VFDs/BACnet. All of these sessions were well received and we

Currently available for the Synergy S7G2 Group Microcontrollers (MCUs), the new VSA gives the rapidly increasing Synergy Platform customer base plug-and-play access to the proven BACnet stack from CS-Lab GmbH.
The new BACnet VSA offers easy access to a certified and standards-compliant implementation via IP, Ethernet, and MS/TP data layers. The functional range of the stack is suitable for the development of BACnet servers according to the following profile B-SS, B-SA, B-ASC, and B-AAC.
