Dear Parents and Families,
We continue our school-wide theme of exploring HOPE. Mrs. Furlong and Mrs.
MurphyMulligan presented at this month’s faculty meeting.
Hope: it is what we cling to when times are trying, and situations are out of our control. We hope for comfort, hope for health, hope for circumstances to improve to better suit our needs and wants. We may use the word “hope” in a superficial way such as, “I hope it doesn’t rain during the picnic.” But there is a deeper meaning of the word. It is when we place our trust in God and have faith in what God has promised.
In the month of November, we place our hope in God as we turn our eyes to Thanksgiving, the very holiday where we express our gratitude for all we have been given. We hope that those less fortunate will see joy and bounty. We hope that God will continue to bless us with family, health and love. We continue our journey of hope as we approach the Advent and Christmas seasons that are set before us. May we never lose hope, especially as we approach these very important seasons.
Mrs. Furlong and Mrs. MurphyMulligan’s lesson exemplifies our commitment to enrich your child’s spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social development. Our goal is to inspire every child to reach his/her fullest potential.
The faculty, staff, and myself are most grateful to you for entrusting your children to us each day. We appreciate the partnership we have with each of you. Together we will help your child navigate the journey of learning.
Wishing you and your family a Blessed Thanksgiving!

Santa’s Workshop
Our Santa’s Workshop, where all students can independently shop for family and friends will be held during school hours on December 9, 10 and 11.
The children will have over 100 delightful gifts to choose from, all ranging in price from $0.50 to $12. This is an amazing opportunity to empower your child to experience the spirit of giving while learning to earn, budget and save.
We will send home a list for your child to fill out beforehand, help them shop to select the best items and best of all, presents will come home already wrapped and ready to put under the tree!
We are also collecting any unused gifts or donations that we can sell in our shop. If you have any new items that could be re-gifted, we would greatly appreciate the donation!
We are always looking for donations of tape, bows, gift wrap, gift tags and gift bags to make these gifts as festive as possible. If you have any donations, please send them to school at your earliest convenience.
Have some extra time on your hands? We will be looking for volunteers and are so grateful to all that can help! Be on the lookout for a SignUp genius in the upcoming Monday Memos.
If you have any questions, please reach out to:
Alicia Karwic at catmoses@cox.net or Jessica Scully at jmeerbergen@csd-law.com

Dear Parents/ Guardians,
We are seeing an increase in the number of walking Pneumonia cases in the State that typically affects children 5-17 years of age. Symptoms can include sore throat, sneezing, persistent cough that does not seem to be getting better, headache, mild chills, low grade fever as well as diarrhea and vomiting. This is caused by the organism Mycoplasma pneumoniae and it is treated with macrolides such as Zithromax, Erythromycin and Clarithromycin. Amoxicillin is not effective. Please follow up with your doctor if your child tests negative for Strep and COVID and just does not seem to be able to shake their fever or stop coughing for days. Children typically get better quickly, but follow up is important if you do not see any improvement in symptoms. Good handwashing and covering coughs is the best method for protection to prevent spread of illness.
Thank you,
Mrs. Cowan RN BS
Corpus Christi School Nurse
