PRESIDENTS MESSAGE FROM TONY PARKER

WSCA President
Tony Parker CEC, ACE

November/December 2014

Recruiting and Advertising Video

We are moving forward with creating a video representing our chapter.  The first step will be the filming of the Competition in Bellingham in January.  The process to complete the video will take most of the year filming events, dinners, competitions, Chef and Child and Special Olympics.  When finished we will have a great representation of our chapter to use for recruiting and advertising.  If there are ACF events that you think we should be filming, please send me an email or give me a call.

Annual Elections Results

Our annual elections were held at the November dinner. The results are 3 board members voted in and one appointed. Brandon LaVielle, Michael Baldwin and Tamas Ronyai were voted for two year terms.  Charles Ramsayer was appointed to fill a one year term on the board.  Dan Lewark was re-elected as vice president for another two years and Jeff Pratt was re-elected for two years as our treasurer.  Congratulations to all and a very large thank you for your time and effort out of your busy lives to do this.

Holiday Dinner & Auction Follow-up

Our Holiday dinner at the SeaTac Marriott property was very exciting and different.  Those that attended experienced a delightful stroll through the chef's kitchen sampling different cuisines uniquely displayed and served.  I for one have never seen a kitchen used in this manner.  The walk in cooler with the sushi bar was great.  The dinner served buffet style with different stations was excellent and well received.  Chef James did a fantastic job and went that extra mile to make the experience very memorable.  Our thanks to the chef and his crew for all the hard work they did.

The silent auction to benefit the apprenticeship was a large success netting approximately 3,000.00 dollars. Jamie Callison brought his book, "The Crimson Spoon" and sold out.  He donated all the revenue to the apprenticeship.  I would like to thank Jamie for all of his support that he continues to give to the chapter and the apprenticeship.  I would also like to thank all the individuals and companies that made donations for the auction.  Without those donations the auction would not have been a success.

For more info, visit the Holiday Dinner & Silent Auction webpage.

I would like to wish all of you happy holidays from my family to all of yours.  This is the time of the year when everyone is running at 100 miles per hour to take care of all your work and still try to plan some family time.  My hope is that all of you will take some time to slow down and enjoy what is most important, family and friends during this holiday season. A friend of mine gave me some good advice the other day, "you can't fix yesterday, all you can do is work on today and tomorrow."
