From the Supervisor
We did it!
I just want to take a moment to say how much I sincerely appreciate the commitment of my team, and to each one of you that played a part in making the 2020 General Election the success that it was.
What a successful poll worker recruitment campaign effort we had for the 2020 General Election! A special shout out to the many state employees, county employees and School Board employees who answered the call to be election day poll workers!
It was especially heartening to see dozens of young people step up and work elections during the COVID-19 pandemic. When your community needed you, you answered the call.
In the midst of a pandemic, with record-setting voter participation (more than 140,000 Alachua County residents), we could not have done what we did without the help of all our dedicated poll workers, volunteers, partner organizations and voters. It is because of you that we were able to weather the challenges that came our way, and yes, even a machine and manual recount!
As we approach the Thanksgiving season, I am reflecting on how blessed I am to live in Alachua County and I am so thankful for those who know and understand the importance of the work that we do in elections.
I am so honored to serve as your Supervisor of Elections and thankful for the opportunity to serve you for another 4-year term.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks in advance.
Yours in Service,
