This year’s Mourning Family Foundation holiday party celebration was indeed the most wonderful time of the year. Hosted by the Mourning Family Foundation, Alonzo Mourning and Tracy Wilson Mourning, shared messages with the kids about the true reason for the season!

During our festive holiday celebration, our kids showered us with their joyful spirits as they sang and danced to their favorite holiday songs. The air was filled with the sweet aroma of delicious treats, and our children savored scrumptious food. This day was made even more special, as our youths received thoughtful gifts from our generous supporters. The joy on their faces was absolutely priceless!

Thank you to the City of Miramar Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis and Miami Dolphins football player Bradley Chubb for being special guests and helping the kids celebrate this holiday season.

The holiday celebration was a memorable experience for everyone involved. This past Thanksgiving, we were thrilled to celebrate the 23rd Annual Thanksgiving Drive. Since the start of the annual Thanksgiving drive, we have been grateful for the overwhelming support and blessings received. The commitment of our donors and the tireless dedication of our staff, who work day-in and day-out to ensure that individuals receive exceptional programming and services, make it possible to host the Thanksgiving Drive each year.

We are thrilled to announce that our AT&T Connected Learning Center partners have generously provided us with 200 laptops, which helps to bridge the social divide and ensure equal access to education. This incredible donation will not only empower our students but also enable them to excel in their learning journey.

Overtown Young Professionals (OYP) is a group of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 39. OYP exists to empower future leaders of our community to engage, connect and support the mission of the Overtown Youth Center. OYP members will serve as ambassadors to raise awareness about the transformational programs that provide youth and families the support necessary to bridge educational, social, emotional, and opportunity gaps that exist in urban communities.
