Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference
The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber held its first annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference on October 27th. First, we had Coach Colene start the day off with an uplifting, energetic, educational piece on D.E.I and what that means to you, and how you can play a part. After that, we heard from a panel of local community leaders sharing their stories on how they have overcome D.E.I in their lives and careers, and what changes they want to see and make in the community. Following that we had 3 breakout rooms where they discussed topics on “Fostering Workplace Belonging”, “Building Relations within your Company”, and “Civility in The Workplace”. And to close out the day was Eric King, who spoke about personal stories of hardships, success, and clarity of how D.E.I has affected him and how he has overcome it. A perfect speaker and speech to close out such a powerful day.

Thank you to our educational sponsor: Town & Country Bank and Trust Co. Also, thank you to our community sponsors: Baptist Health, CHI Saint Joseph Health/ Flaget Memorial Hospital, Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience, James B. Beam Distilling Co., Lincoln National Bank, and Orbis Corporation.

Spotlight of the Month
Doug Brink, Realtor with United Real Estate Louisville

The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize Doug Brink, Realtor with United Real Estate Louisville as Spotlight of the Month.

I work for United Real Estate, Moved to Bardstown in 2009 and could not love living here more. Nearly all my business is in Nelson county. My goal is to sell 40 homes by the end of the year. I love working with first time home buyers but will work with anyone no matter the price range. I like to tell my clients we will eat the elephant one bite at a time. The whole home buying process can be overwhelming to buyer, same with sellers. My job is to help, teach, handhold what ever needs done. When i get a client i will not rest until i find them a new home or sell their home. I spend money on professional photos one every listing as well as paid ads. I love being an embassator for the BNCC. I have me lots of wonderful people and enjoy taking welcome packets when someone joins the chamber. The BNCC staff is awesome and very hard working so going the chamber has been great for me and my business.
