ANGEL TREE

Stop in at the NOAS Warren Office

to pick up your angel card

The tree is up, and the angels are waiting for your pick! The need remains the same despite a few changes this year. We work to ensure that every child served by NOAS receives a gift to help celebrate the holidays through our Angel Tree program, which has been in place for over 30 years. Visit our Warren office Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Kathy can be reached at 330-856-5582, extension 110, if you have any questions about our Angel Tree program. Thank you for your continued support.

NOVEMBER IS NATIONAL ADOPTION MONTH

Empowering Youth: Finding Points of Connection

This year's theme is "Empowering Youth: Finding Points of Connection", emphasizing the need for adoptive families for teens in U.S. foster care. In Ohio, almost 15,000 children live in foster homes or other out-of-home settings, and more than 3,000 of those children and youth are awaiting adoption. Approximately 1,400 of the children awaiting adoption are over 13 years old. Adoptable children aged 13 and older have been in foster care for an average of 1,737 days, which is four years and nine months.

NOAS wants to draw attention to the need for foster and adoptive families in NE Ohio during Adoption Awareness Month. As a foster care agency, NOAS prides itself on providing children with nurturing, supportive and permanent homes. Join NOAS on your foster to adoption journey. Call 800-686-6627 ext. 126 or email smoreton@noas.com.

WINGS -N- WHEELS DONATION

NOAS received a generous donation from the Wings -N- Wheels event. The continued support of organizations like yours helps us provide needed programs and services for foster youth and families. Our heartfelt thanks extend out to the Wings -N- Wheels team for their generosity. Your support is invaluable.

BECOME A MENTOR TO A FOSTER YOUTH

The importance of mentors to a young person or young adult cannot be overstated. Mentoring foster youth shows them they are important, they are not alone, and someone cares about them. A mentor may be the only semblance of family in the life of a youth who has experienced foster care. Foster Care Mentors make a difference in the lives of foster children who need a helping hand, a connection, and someone to champion their well-being. Interested in taking the next step? Contact Kaitlin at 330-980-4505 or kirgang@noas.com.
