This year's theme is "Empowering Youth: Finding Points of Connection", emphasizing the need for adoptive families for teens in U.S. foster care. In Ohio, almost 15,000 children live in foster homes or other out-of-home settings, and more than 3,000 of those children and youth are awaiting adoption. Approximately 1,400 of the children awaiting adoption are over 13 years old. Adoptable children aged 13 and older have been in foster care for an average of 1,737 days, which is four years and nine months.
NOAS wants to draw attention to the need for foster and adoptive families in NE Ohio during Adoption Awareness Month. As a foster care agency, NOAS prides itself on providing children with nurturing, supportive and permanent homes. Join NOAS on your foster to adoption journey.
