Wisdom From The Herd

Hi everyone,

Can you believe it’s already November?

This is the season of giving thanks — for our blessings, our strength, our love, our resilience, our resources, and the people who lift us up.

For many, this time of year can feel especially heavy. Some are going without a paycheck. Some feel unrecognized or unappreciated. Some are moving through each day with no promise that things will get easier.

Here’s what I know: no person, no entity, and no government can take away all your blessings — or take away who you are.

When life feels dark, we can turn toward the light. And when the light feels hard to find, we can create our own. Reach out. Lean on others. People don’t always know what to say or how to help, but connection matters — and it changes things.

So let me start by saying this:

Thank you.

Thank you for everything you are doing without recognition, without recompense, and sometimes without the support you deserve.

It is written: “Gratitude is the great multiplier.”

And we’ve all heard the truth: “What we focus on expands.”

So today, let’s begin by focusing on gratitude, generosity, and the good that still exists in the world.

Below are three of my favorite charities — organizations doing meaningful, healing work through the power of horses:

The Horse Protection League

A safe haven where horses receive medical care, love, and support as they wait for their forever homes.

Hope Held By a Horse

A nonprofit offering healing and empowerment to cancer survivors through the restorative connection with horses.

Hope Through Horses

An organization that provides grants to help individuals in need access mental health support through equine-assisted services.

Thank you for being here, for caring, and for continuing to walk forward with courage and heart.

With gratitude,

Dawn

ACCEPTANCE

written by Dawn Mathis

There’s a saying: “Humans plan — God laughs.”

I had to smile when I read that. I do believe in having a plan — a vision gives shape to who we are and helps guide our destiny. Yet, life often reminds us that we’re not fully in charge.

We do what we can, with what we have, from where we are. That — along with our attitude and energy — is all we truly control.

The art of letting go of what we cannot control, and releasing the illusion that we can force things to go our way, is what I’ve come to understand as acceptance.

Things are not always as they seem, especially those we’re quick to label as “bad.” Perhaps if we can accept, trust, and allow more of life’s plan to unfold in its own timing, we’ll find there’s less we need to do — and more we’re invited simply to be.

Dawn shows up big for her clients! I have not met many coaches who show so much genuine desire to assist their clients to release what keeps them trapped. At the same time, through the process Dawn allows you the space to feel all that is needed to get to the emotional release you desperately want. With Dawn as your coach you will have the biggest cheerleader at your side. She will be there to hold space when you cry and celebrate you when you succeed.
